OK, so this is a thing. You know how Alolan Exeggutor GX has that one attack that can snipe a pokemon for damage based on how many energies it has? Do you remember Jungle Totem Venusaur? Do remember that one non-gx exeggutor that evolves all exeggcute on your bench? Can you see where I'm going with this? Are you annoyed by me asking all of these questions? I'm sure you are, so here's my list:

Pokemon (19):
  • Exeggcute (4)
  • [*]Exeggcute – Grass – HP50
    Basic Pokemon

[C] Hypnosis: Your opponent’s Active Pokemon is now Asleep.

    [G] Ram: 10 damage.

    Weakness: Fire (x2)
    Resistance: none
    Retreat: 1

    [*]
  • Alolan Exeggutor GX (3)
  • [*]Alolan Exeggutor-GX – Dragon – HP220
Stage 1 – Evolves from Exeggcute

[G] Tropical Head: Does 20 damage times the number of Energy attached to this Pokemon to 1 of your opponent’s Pokemon. (Don’t apply Weakness or Resistance for Benched Pokemon.)

[G][C][C][C] Dragon Hammer: 120 damage. Your opponent’s Active Pokemon is now Confused.

[G][C][C][C] Tower-Go-Round GX: 180 damage. Move as many Energy attached to your Pokemon to your other Pokemon in any way you like. (You can’t use more than 1 GX attack in a game.)

When 1 of your Pokemon-GX is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

    Weakness: Fairy (x2)
    Resistance: none
    Retreat: 3
    [*]
  • Alolan Exeggutor (2)
  • [*]Alolan Exeggutor – Dragon – HP130
Stage 1 – Evolves from Exeggcute

[.] Exeggutor Paradise: For each Exeggcute on your Bench, search your deck for an Alolan Exeggutor or Alolan Exeggutor-GX and put it onto that Exeggcute. (This counts as evolving that Pokemon.) Then, shuffle your deck.

[G][C][C] Draco Meteor Barrage: 80x damage. Flip a coin for each [G] Energy attached to this Pokemon. This attack does 80 damage for each heads.

    Weakness: Fairy (x2)
    Resistance: none
    Retreat: 3
    [*]
  • Bulbasaur (2)
  • Ivysaur (1)
  • Venusaur (2)
  • Tapu Koko SM31 (1)
  • Tapu Lele GX (2)
  • Shining Genesect (2)
Trainer (29):
  • EnergyField Blower (3)
  • Heavy Ball (2)
  • Rare Candy (2)
  • Rescue Stretcher (1)
  • Gladion (1)
  • [*]Gladion – Trainer
    Supporter

Look at your face-down Prizes cards, choose 1 of them, and switch it with this Gladion. Put the card you chose in your hand. Then, shuffle Gladion and the Prize cards you looked at and return them face-down as Prize cards.

You may play only 1 Supporter card during your turn (before your attack).
    [*]
  • Ultra Ball (3)
  • Lusamine (2)
  • [*]Lusamine – Trainer
    Supporter

Put 2 in combination of Stadium and Supporter cards from your discard pile into your hand.

You may play only 1 Supporter card during your turn (before your attack).
    [*]
  • Acerola (1)
  • Brigette (1)
  • Guzma (3)
  • N (3)
  • Prof. Kukui (1)
  • Prof. Sycamore (3)
  • Choice Band (3)
Energy (12):
  • Grass (10)
  • DCE (2)

If the strat wasn't obvious, you use Jungle Totem off of Venusaur to double the amount of energy on Exeggutor GX and in doing so make the number of attachments reasonable. That, and with a rare candy on turn 2 and two energy on the GX you can snipe even the 70 hp basics with Tropical Head. I think it works pretty well, the only real problem being getting out the Venusaur, but the energy bonus is totally worth it.

Venusaur is a toad =P

I like this deck conceptually and I'm sure it'll be a fun deck to surprise someone with. Honestly I was thinking about making this sort of deck myself, but this ends up being very clunky. It's a shame because I actually really like Exeggutor GX and I think in a meta without Brigette and Gardy it could be a dangerout anti-setup deck archetype. The problem is that it needs a fair amount of setup itself.

My first comment on this list itself is that the trainer line up is a little inconsistent and I'm not sure it's worth it to run Lusamine in this deck. You don't really have a stadium or supporter that you need to constantly recycle which is were Lusamine shines IMO (like in Golisopod GX or the new Gyarados GX). -2 Lusamine and add in +1 N and +1 Sycamore. Choice Band isn't really doing you much good in this deck either. I'd run one for Genesect and the odd KO from Exeggutor's GX attack, but you need float stones, and lots of them. -2 Choice Band, -1 Field Blower, + 3 Float Stone. Kukui also isn't really doing you much good either because... well Kukui is kinda just bad without VS Seeker. -1 Kukui and either +1 Brigette or +1 Acerola. Lastly -1 Grass Energy and add +1 Rare Candy for consistency sake.

While I can see why some don't see Lusamine as super great, I personally like the concept of being able to have something similar to Vs. Seeker, but with the possibility of infinitely streaming it. Personally, something that good can't be passed up. As for Float Stones, I do agree, and now that I think about it, a large portion of the reason I included Choice band is because I'm not used to be able to hit the bench :p.

But on the note of Kukui though, I do not believe it's a bad card. While it is possible to waste it just for an extra 2 cards, it can also be enough damage to change a two-shot into a one-shot in too many scenarios. Granted, this in in Buluvolt, but the damage output is still physically possible with this deck. I'll think about it though.

You misunderstand my position on Lusamine. I think it's a very powerful card, which only gain MORE potential as we get better stadium cards IMO. It's just A.) not an every deck staple card, and B.) not a great fit for this deck. You'd be better of squeezing in an Oranguru if you want extra draw support, and unlike some decks in the format you're not heavily reliant on Guzma. What supporter in your line up are you looking at and thinking "well this is SO important to my strategy that I'm willing to use my supporter for the turn just to have this next turn"?

Kukui has the unfortunate issue of being a "dead weight" card. 20 more damage is great don't get me wrong but if Kukui is the only supporter in your hand T1 or something you're just going to be chucking that as soon as you get a Sycamore or an Ultra Ball. VS Seeker made the card really strong because you could play one of them in your deck and simple toss it whenever you liked giving yourself the potential to Seeker it back later for that 20 damage boost. The problem with Lusamine in that equation, BTW is that you have to wait a turn while your opponent knows what you've taken. You're basically N bait at that point.
