  • 2 Colress (draw)
  • 3 Skyla (search)
  • 3 N (draw)

ENERGY (11):
  • 2 Double Colorless Energy
  • 9 Darkness Energy

STRATEGY:

Go first and start with Yveltal Ex or non-Ex. Bench another attacker and Deino. Start to attack turn two with Yveltal and alter between both attacks. Darkrai Ex is in the deck for free retreat and constitutes another nice attacker that has a different weakness. Dark trans resources around and conserve resources with attacks and Pokémon Abilities.

Why would you not run Shadow Circle in this deck to not only counter an opponent's Stadium like Frozen City Gym, but just as importantly, remove your Poké weakness? You would then force opponents to 1HKO your "big" Poké which in many cases one can not do without the 2X weakness factor, thus making your Max Potions more effective. I've found Shadow Circle to makes a huge difference in certain match-ups, IMHO.

Hi TuxedoBlack,

True that. Did not see room for the stadium at first and still test out the deck to see what can be removed because it is not used often and does not fit the theme that well. Recommendations on what to alter are most welcome. Besides hand denial this is the one darkness theme I miss in the list.

Greetings DE.

In my area, it is quite common to encounter Thundurus EX, Landorus EX, etc.; so, when Shadow Circle was released it was the second card I added to my Darkrai EX decks from the XY set. I'd suggest you consider replacing a Muscle Band and a Shauna (or Colress) for 2 Shadow Circle.

By the way, do you have any particular reason(s) for excluding Ns? You could replace the Shaunas for Ns.

Hi TuxedoBlack,

Pink Corner can indeed be an issue and the same holds for Yeti and Raindancer decks such as Emboar and Blastoise. The ohkos make the entire tactic of this deck useless. N was in essence an omission. Please have a look at the revised deck list above in a minute to see whether it is better now.

a little tweek: Drop a candy and add an Energy Retrieval or a SER, you run 9 discarders and have no Sableye to retrieve dark patch... also, you don't know how many times i've been saved by Dowsing machine an ultra ball with 2 basic energy, then energy retrieve them to ultra ball them again and Bahm!

Hi Sirmaiik,

Sounds good. Will need to test whether the deck can work with two candies. It could work out since Dark Trans does not need to be out turn two. it would suffice to have it on the bench when there is a need to remove damage from hurt Pokémon.

- 1 Rare Candy
+ 1 Energy Retrieval / Super Rod

Would Super Rod or Retrieval be better for this deck?

Retrieval. You have a Solid frontline, in any case you need yveltal or darkrai back on deck it means you have lost already. Also as you said, hydreigon is just a damage-counter or for surprise moves. For energy is not an option, Dark Patch :)
