BLACK TOXIN
POKEMON (10):
SUPPORTER / ITEM / STADIUM (38):
ENERGY (12):
STRATEGY:
Go first and start with Yveltal. Be sure to have a second one on the bench and Darkrai for free retreat until the Pokémon Abilities lock is in effect. Alter between Evil Ball and the second attack. Darkrai can be used when the second attack is more dominant and when weakness becomes and issue.
Garbodor became better with the new rules and the increased use of decks that focus on Pokémon Abilities. While this deck is fast even without him he is a nice addition since further slows the other side down. Float Stone is used on Garbodor but also works well on the main attackers to offset the free retreat lock. Unlike classic Basics Garbodor decks this deck even benefits somehow from the tool removal since it can now alter between attackers and shift resources around with Yveltal.
The deck runs a lot of draw cards and it relies on them. A lack of draw trainers over some turns can be a real issue since speed is the win condition for this deck. In fact this deck is akin to Rush Darkness decks with Garbodor added as a nuisance factor to slow others down.
NOTE:
The deck has two tech slots. One of the Virbank Stadiums can be removed for either Shadow Circle or Frozen City. Both counter different decks and are thus meta game calls. It can also fit in one switch card to counter status locks. All that needs to be done is to remove one Basic Darkness for the switch card of choice. Thus the version above is the unteched standard built.
An alternative Ace for the standard built could be Life Dew. Most decks run no more than two or three tool removal cards. When there are two benched Garbodor with Tools it can be hard to decide whether to remove the tools from the two benched Garbodor or Life Dew from the active Pokémon Ex. Not entire sure on this alternate Ace card but it looks nice at first glance. The second alternative Ace card would be Computer Search to obtain needed key cards rom the deck.
