Blacksmith can not retrieve Rainbow Energy. On Rainbow Energy's text it says "This card provides Colorless Energy. While in play this card provides every type of Energy but only provides 1 Energy at a time." "In play" means an being attached to a Pokémon in this case. The reason Blacksmith can not retrieve Rainbow Energy is because while in the Discard Pile (not in play) it provides Colorless Energy only.
