League Tournaments:

League Tournament 1: (3rd Universe)

I use Empoleon/Terrakion.

R1 vs. Theme Deck W
R2 vs. Reshiram EX/Stuff W
R3 vs. Garchomp/Stuff W

Get one pack as a prize, pull nothing.

League Tournament 2: (3rd Universe)

I use Landorus/Tornadus/Mewtwo/Aerodactyl.

R1 vs. Hammertime W
R2 vs. Darkrai/Hydreigon W
R3 vs. Theme Deck W

I have better resistance then Aaron Clarke, the other 3-0, so I get a pack and again pull crap.

More tournaments to come in the future, let's see if I can stay undefeated lol.

League Tournament 3: (Time Warp)

I'm using my SD.

R1 vs. Plasma W
R2 vs. Emmett w/ Blastoise W
R3 vs. Big Basics L (topdecckkssss)
R4 vs. Bad Plasma W

Noooo I'm not undefeated anymore. Those Juniper topdecks >_<. Oh well, I buy a pack on the way out and pull a Shiny Garchomp. Successful day. Played some Pack Wars with RogueChomp and iisnumber12, won the first two and then lost cuz Magnezone is broke.

League #4 (no tournament, might as well post records here though because why not): (Time Warp)

I'm using Blastoise.

Jeremy w/ Plasma: W W
Arjun w/ Darkrai: W W
Emmett w/ Darkrai: W W
Noah w/ Plasma: L W W

Overall: 8-1

Battle Roads:

Not much happened ahead of time. We (meadowbubble and I) got there early and I talked to some people. I still had to decide if I wanted to use Giratina or Mewtwo, and I decided on Giratina. I then played one match against RogueChomp and got wrecked, then parings went up.

I play Darkrai/Hydreigon.

Round 1 vs. Mirror

Well, I wish I could say every match went like this. I go first and get two T1 Deinos and a Darkrai active. Not too shabby, but I get worried when he get's a T1 Deino and Sableye, and I can't manage to get the Hydreigon T2. I do, however, get a Zweilous and a Sableye T2, which helps a lot. He then plays N and get's nothing. I get the Hydreigon and the Darkrai attacking, and proceed to kill the Deino and the Zweilous on his bench to prevent him from getting a Hydreigon also. It went pretty downhill for him at this point, and I proceed to sweep the field with Hydreigon and Darkrai. He gets some Max Potions at the end to stall me out, but he runs out of them quickly and I KO his final Darkrai for the game.

1-0

Round 2 vs. Michael Diaz w/ Empoleon/Accelgor/Roserade

There goes my luck, considering I'm playing one of the top players in the U.S. To make matters worse, he gets a Shelmet T1, two Piplup, and a Roselia. I get a half-decent start (unfortunately starting Sigilpyh though), barely managing to pull off a T1 Deino after a horrible Juniper (like, 3 catchers kind of horrible). He get's a T2 Empoleon, Accelgor, and Roserade, so I'm in trouble. He proceeds to N me into a crap hand. It does have an N however, which I proceed to use immediately. I'm not expecting anything major, but I somehow get a Candy, Hydreigon, and Sableye. Wow. I ponder for a while, and decide to grab some catchers with Sableye instead of Ko'ing something. He then starts locking out my Hydreigon with Accelgor and manages to get the KO. I manage to take a prize after he KO's Hydreigon and then starts locking a Darkrai. I get to a point at which I'm afraid to play Juniper because I'll only have two cards left in my deck. It turns out to be the wrong move because time is called during his turn. He's up on prizes, so he Deck and Covers my Darkrai twice more with Mew EX and I lose. Still a great game though.

1-1

Round 3 vs. Sam Chen w/ Mewtwo EX/Raikou EX/Eels (No Zekrom)

He goes first and gets a great start. I manage to get two Deino out T2, but I then stop drawing supporters and he takes out both Deino quickly. I can't do much from that point on. I struggle with Sableye and spam catchers on his Eels, but his 4 switches pull through and he proceeds to sweep with a Mewtwo with 12 energy on it (>_>).

1-2

Round 4 vs. Alexis(awesome) w/ Hammertime

Before the match starts, he complains about his name and tells me not to look at it on the pairings list. Well, I already did, so we make up a new name for him. Instead of Alexis he was now Alex is awesome (which he kinda deserved, he was a really nice guy). After that interesting exchange, we proceed to play THE most epic match I have ever played. He starts Sableye and goes first. It takes me a while to realize that it's Hammertime and not Hydreigon, but it doesn't really matter. I attempt to set up some Deinos but he catchers all of them to death. Suddenly, I realize he has no non-EX attackers. I send up Sigilpyh, and the fun begins. He realizes he's in a tight spot, despite the fact that I can't hurt him. He starts his master plan by Tool Scrapping HIMSELF (yes, you heard that right) and Junk Hunting for the Dark Claw that he discarded. I'm kind of confused, but I simply spam catchers and get an Eviolite onto Sigilpyh to stall. I'm in a supporter drought at this point, so he takes advantage of me not N'ing him by attaching the Dark Claw to Sableye. We both crack up because of this ridiculous maneuver and he starts spamming Confuse Ray. I manage to draw into all of my Max Potions and Tool Scrappers to stall even longer. It takes about 20 turns, but he finally manages to KO my Sigilpyh with Confuse Ray. He gets up and starts dancing. He then stops dancing when I play Super Rod and Ultra Ball to get Sigilpyh active again. We both can't stop laughing at this point because of the ridiculousness of the situation. Another guy comes in, who was watching the match earlier, turns to me and says "You're STILL going? Wow, that Sigilpyh is a beast." After a few more turns, he catchers my Darkrai and get's 90 on it with Night Spear. He has the second catcher the next turn so he takes his final prize for the win. It was surprising that I even made it that close, considering he had 5 cards left in his deck when he won. We both lol again when we see his final two prizes: his last two N. All I can say is that was the best match ever. I don't even care that I lost.

1-3

Round 5 vs. Terrakion EX/Terrakion/Mewtwo EX/Mew EX

I go second and start Shaymin EX. I mean, I know it didn't matter if I lost here, but that's a pretty brutal way to start my last match. He gets an energy on his active Terrakion EX, and puts a Stunfisk, Mewtwo, and regular Terrakion on the bench. Perfect start for him >_>. I drop a blend on Shaymin, catcher his Terrakion regular, and totally whiff anything useful except for a Darkrai off of my Juniper. He N's next turn and whiffs the Switch, so he attaches a DCE to his Mewtwo and passes. I drop the Deino I just got, put an Eviolite on Shaymin, and, in a somewhat risky maneuver, I decide to pass, pretending I have a bad hand when I really have a Candy and a Hydreigon, along with a ton of supporters. He falls for the trick and doesn't play the N he has in his hand. Big mistake. I get the Hydreigon up and get a really good hand off of my own N, which results in me getting a second Hydreigon the turn after. I get some KO's, including his Terrakion EX and his Terrakion regular, but he kills two Darkrai so I'm in a bad spot with that Shaymin still sitting on my field. He hasn't got any more Terrakion out so I cant just kill those with Shaymin. He put's Mewtwo up, and then he realizes he doesn't have enough energy to kill my Shaymin after I moved the energy off of it the turn before. He then makes the worst misplay I've ever seen. He catchers the Sableye on my bench and KO's it, bringing him to one prize to my three. I proceed to murder his Mewtwo with Shaymin, and, since he has no energy on the field, there's nothing he can do.

2-3

I then buy a single pack just for fun and get crap. Not the best day, but at least I met some PB members and had that epic 4th match.

Props:
Other cool PB members
The match organizer being cool
Sableye with Dark Claw and other 4th match shenanigans
Almost beating a top U.S. competitor
Not losing my last match so I didn't go 1-4
Meadowbubble somehow winning a match with the not very good deck that I gave her with some of my leftover cards

Slops:
2-3 >_>
Horrible luck again, including going first once out of five matches
Bad pack
The store not having Dragon Shield Sleeves
Forgetting to turn my 3DS on for StreetPass
RogueChomp getting donked twice

PA Regionals:

Day 0:

I get there at around 8:30, meet up with Glace and alexmf2 to do some playtesting. I get wrecked my Glace twice (one of the times three catcher were prized >_>) and then beat alexmf2 once. I manage to first every single game, which kind of surprised me since I literally NEVER go first (before this tournament, I was 4 out of 16 for going first, and it gets worse.) I then went straight to bed.

Day 1:

I arrive early and do some more playtesting against Machamp the Champion and some other random people, all of the games of which I win. I then find out that there are NINE rounds for masters, so it was going to be a long day. Pairings go up, and it begins.

I'm playing Empoleon/Terrakion.

Round 1 vs. Logan w/ Rayeels

I start Piplup and go second. He gets a pretty good start with two Tynamos and a Raikou. I can't get the T1 Emolga, but I manage to get three Piplup turn 1 anyway. He proceeds to get both eels out his next turn, so I'm pretty scared at this point. Luckily, he can't get enough energy on Raikou to start KO'ing Piplups, so I'm safe for at least another turn. I don't get the T2 Empoleon, so I'm forced to just grab the Emolga, retreat out my Piplup, and Call for a Terrakion. I did get a Prinplup though, so I'm prepared for next turn. I don't fully remember what happened during his next turn, but he STILL can't get any energy in the discard and he doesn't draw anything even remotely helpful. I proceed to get two Empoleons the next turn, although I unfortunately whiff the catcher so I'm forced to hit his Raikou for some damage. The game pretty much continues like this. I have to use Retaliate for 60 at one point on his Raikou, finally KO'ing it with an Empoleon after getting a switch. He manages to KO an Empoleon and stall for a bit with Thunder Fang + Victini, but he can't stop my onslaught after the Raikou is dead as I proceed to take out both Eels. He gets a Rayquaza EX up with a few energy on it and hits for some damage late game, and that's really the end of him doing anything. I attack command for 80, then use my final switch to my fully charged Terrakion for the game.

1-0

YAY, I continued my streak of winning the first game of every tournament I've been too. Unfortunately, I've always lost the second match too, so I have to hope to break that streak next round.

Round 2 vs. Gino Lombardi w/ Terrakion EX/Terrakion/Roserade

This wasn't much of a game, unfortunately. He starts Terrakion EX and goes first. He gets a decent start, but he fills his whole bench early so I'm confident I can win. That is, until I have to do a massive T1 combo to get my Emolga out due to me starting Terrakion, leaving me with no cards in my hand. I don't topdeck anything, so he just KO's the crap out of my Piplups. I manage to actually get an Empoleon up late game off of an N that I topdeck, but his Mewtwo with 6 energy kind of puts me in a checkmate position. I try to kill it with Mew, but my plan fails and he has a Juniper in his small hand anyway, so he's free to take his last prize with Mewtwo.

1-1

The streak continues...well, I have also lost every Round 3 and all of the tournaments I have been too, so I can still pull myself out of that. I grab lunch first, then race back before the round begins.

Round 3 vs. Garchomp/Altaria

When she went first, I was SCARED. I had never tested this matchup because I couldn't find anyone to test against who had it. She get's two Gible and an Swablu T1, so it's very possible that a T2 Garchomp could completely destroy me. I started Emolga though, so I'm not in too bad of a position. That is, until I call for family and see that TWO Piplup are prized. My Rayquaza, however, is not, so I know I can grab that via a Communication or Ultra Ball later. I'm really concerned about the T2 Garchomp at this point because if she gets it, I'm done. However, she gets absolutely nothing the next turn besides for another Swablu, so I'm safe for a little while. I don't get the T2 Empoleon, but I get Prinplup and Rayquaza out. I then catcher a Swablu and Static Shock it with Emolga for the knockout. She STILL doesn't get the Garchomp the next turn, although she get's a Gabite, a Swablu, and an Altaria. I proceed to KO the Gabite with Rayquaza. She spams sand attack to try and stall, but after flipping tails once I retreat to my Rayquaza and sweep her field. I flip heads on the rest of the Sand Attacks, so she literally cannot do anything as I OHKO everything for my last 4 prizes.

2-1

I broke the streak :D.

Round 4 vs. Darkrai/Hydreigon

He goes first, so I'm scared silly about the T2 Hydreigon. He doesn't get it though, and even though I start Terrakion I get a fantastic start. After my T2 Empoleon and catchering his Deino, he had a lot of difficulties. He managed to get two more Deino out but I catchered them before they could do anything. I proceeded to sweep the rest of his field with Empoleon and a fully charged Terrakion.

3-1

Round 5 vs. Rayeels

I forgot to place my prizes DDDD: so I get a multi-prize loss and he takes three prizes T1. It turns out his Thundurus was prized too :/. Not really a lot to say, he killed all the Piplups I got with his Raikou and took his last three prizes to win. I probably wouldn't have won anyway, considering I couldn't get an Empoleon out, but I still felt really bad that I lost because of such a dumb, easily correctable mistake.

3-2

So, I have to win my next 4 rounds in a row to guarantee cut.

Round 6 vs. Entei/Garbodor

LOLOLOLOLOLOL. I almost felt bad for him after I wen't first with Emolga and got an Empoleon going T3. Water beats fire, is there much more to say? He managed to get 4 prizes from catchers and annoying burn flips and from me whiffing because of the lack of Diving Draw, but this game was over before it started.

4-2

Round 7 vs. Rayeels

Rayeels AGAIN. And he ran TWO THUNDURUS. WHYYYYYYYYY...not to mention he goes first with possibly the BEST start I have ever seen in a Rayeels deck. I somehow manage to make a comeback with N and Terrakion spamming, but I simply lost the prize trade in the end, despite me getting down to one prize.

4-3

Round 8 vs. Darkrai/Terrakion/Hammers

One of my best matchups, she didn't really have a chance unless she could get a Darkrai going constantly throughout the match. Sure, she flipped heads on a lot of hammers, but I got a T2 Empoleon and she had enough things on her bench for me to wreck her whole field. I never whiffed the energy, and when time was called and I was up 5-1, there was nothing she could do.

5-3

Round 9 vs. Aaron Zheng w/ Darkrai/Hydreigon

I start Terrakion :/ and after he goes first, I can't get a Piplup out T1. This allows him to get Hydreigon out fast and I couldn't really do anything. We prize trade a bunch and I get to kill a Darkrai with Terrakion, but when time was called I simply didn't have enough basics left in my deck for my Mew EX to kill his Mewtwo with 6 energy on it. I would have gotten some CP too :[

5-4

Overall, at least I went positive. I improve my match record every time, so maybe some time in the near future I'll actually make cut :D...that is if I can ever manage to go first, considering I'm now 7 for 25 for going first, which is nearly half of what probability dictates.

I also buy a pack at the end, because I always do at tournaments, and I pull a Goodchomp, so that could have been worse.

Props:
Going positive
Meeting people
Beating my worst matchup with two of my main attackers prized (with a tech I was considering dropping)
Good pack

Slops:
Not placing prize cards
Losing out of cut, then losing out of CP
Crazy long day because of 9 rounds
Still not going first even close to 50% of the time

BCR Prerelease:

I'll make this brief.

I open my packs and get nothing. The guy across from me (at the same table as me too, so I could have sat in his seat) pulls 3 FA EX's (one of them being Landorus >:0) and I get the worst pulls in existence, consisting of nearly no competitive cards. I compile my deck, which is a Psychic/Fire deck with Emboar and Scolipede as its strong points.

Round 1 vs. 3 FA EX guy:

x____x. I never had a chance. He get's all three EX's (Celebi, Landorus, White Kyurem) out early and there's not much I can do. I manage to stall for a ridiculous amount of turns with Munna, but eventually he wakes up and sweeps me. My Emboar made a valiant effort and I actually managed to get down to one prize, but Land's Judgement ruined its dreams and I take the R1 loss.

Round 2 vs. Person who has never played before

I use Delibird to get an Emboar out fast, and despite her getting Cresselia EX out at the end of the game, I Fire Blast for 120, then flip heads on Firebreathing to do 70 for the game.

Round 3 vs. Person who was in between the other two people's playing skill

This game starts a lot worse than the other one did. I start Tepig, (my only one which I REALLY didn't want getting KO'd) and she goes first (I went 0-3 for going first x__x). However, she gets an extremely slow start also, and I stall for an insane amount of time with Munna and Croagunk. I once again manage to get Emboar out, and I sweep a good portion of her field until she drops Landorus EX. This would have ended badly, but using my Town Map from earlier I grabbed a Venipede from my prizes, then set up a Scolipede. She can't do much but Hammerhead it, which proceeds to poison it AND take damage from Rocky Helmet. I then KO it with Venoshock.

2-1

I came around 3rd-4th place, and then I get my last few packs and get even worse pulls than I did from the previous six.

Props:
Doing well (in a tournament that doesn't count x____x)
Meeting cool people
Having people admire my Japanese Shiny Charizard

Slops:
Worst pulls ever (not even a single Skyla)
Not having time to stay for the booster draft

Watervilet Cities:
I did terrible, so I'll make this brief. I'm playing Landorus/Tornadus/Mewtwo (with Bouffalant and Terrakion)

R1 vs. Darkrai/Hydreigon Box (Terrakion, Keldeo, Prism)

He gets a T2 Hydreigon, but I stack three energy on a Landorus to KO it. He get's a second Hydreigon up after my Landorus is dead, but he has two Max Potion prized so he's helpless as my Bouffalant with an Eviolite (and Aspierta Gym AND healing with Potion) sweeps his field.

1-0

R2 vs. Mirror

This match sucked. It's one of the reasons I didn't do well overall because I couldn't focus after this match. To make a long story short, we prize trade a bunch until I miscalculate damage, causing me to burn a switch that I didn't have to to get a KO. I then play Juniper when I only have 9 cards left in my deck, and forget Tornadus only has one retreat so I didn't attack a turn that I could have. 3 crucial misplays which lost me an easily winnable game (Bouffalant would have swept at the end had I not decked).

1-1

R3 vs. Darkrai/Landorus/Mewtwo

I could barely focus after the previous horrid R2, but I take strong control early and get up on the prize trade. However, he stacks a lot of energy on a Mewtwo and starts KOing stuff. I make a risky play by moving up my own Mewtwo and then Junipering, hoping for a DCE. I get it and KO his Mewtwo. However, he get's a Landorus up and I can't KO it in time before he does 150 to my Mewtwo for the game.

1-2

R4 vs. Darkrai/Hydreigon

This wasn't much of a game. I get a Landorus early but then whiff supporters for 8 turns. There wasn't much I could do.

1-3

R5 vs. Cofragigus/Gardevoir/Reuniclus/Blissey/Mewtwo/IDK what else because I won too fast

Man, this match was hard. She's totally going to win by spamming Sing with Chansey but I manage to draw my switches and flip heads on sleep so I can utterly demolish her field with Landorus. She drops the all powerful Mewtwo though, so I'm probably doomed until I realize I have a Mewtwo with 5 energy on the field already.

2-3

R6 vs. Darkrai/Landorus/Mewtwo

I start Landorus and start pounding away at his field. I don't show any sign of having anything else but Landorus so he thinks he's clear to sweep with Mewtwo. That is, until I drop Mewtwo/DCE/Switch to kill his. He didn't have much of a chance after that and the combo of Bouffalant and Mewtwo wrecks his field.

3-3

Props:
Bouffalant being a god
DV getting 2nd with a list that was mostly mine
BREAKING EVEN ON GOING FIRST (It's a miracle)

Slops:
2nd round horribleness
3-3
Store not having packs for sale

Cedar Grove cities:
I'll get straight to the point. I'm playing Darkrai/Mewtwo/Landorus.

R1 vs. Aaron Zheng w/ Ho-oh

A good player round 1. Just my luck. Especially since I wasn't confident about this matchup at all. However, I get manage to get a turn 2 night spear which hurts him significantly. He get's a Terrakion, which is annoying, but I KO it with Land's Judgement after Darkrai goes down. His setup collapses after that point and he tries to stall with Sigilpyh but I had conserved my catchers so it didn't work. At one point he N's me into a three card hand that could have been a serious issue for me, but I proceed to get a Juniper and an Energy Switch, and Juniper into exactly what I need. He can't do much after that and I catcher a benched Ho-oh (after sniping it thrice with Spear) for the game.

1-0

R2 vs. Customized version of Bad Deck Monday (Audino/Eels)

When he started Audino, I was like "What?" Then he starts powerful slapping and gets an unholy amount of heads. Luckily, he manages to flip one less then he needs for the KO each time. He nearly benches me T2 because I can't get any other basics. After a lucky N topdeck though, I manage to avoid the bench and slowly try to set up. I get a Darkrai to KO the first Audino, which he proceeds to Powerful Slap with another one and then X-ball for the KO. We prize trade a bit, but I get put into a really bad spot because he has a Tornadus EX ready to sweep and I can't do much about it. I manage to get a Landorus EX up though and catcher an Eel, doing 60 and 30 to a benched one. He Junipers, hoping for a catcher, and whiffs it. I have the final catcher on the Eel with 30 to get a double KO for the game.

2-0

R3 vs. John Costa w/ Aspierta/Stuff

I get a pretty bad start. He get's a Bouffalant attacking early which really cripples my setup, but I manage to get a Darkrai going and we prize trade a bunch. I don't remember fully what happened, but it ends up with me having 11 cards left in my deck and a Juniper in hand. I need a fighting to basically win the game. I whiff it, and he Junipers, doesn't whiff what he needs, and wins.

2-1

R4 vs. Keldeo/Blastoise

I once again get a T2 Night Spear, and that severely hurts him. He can't get an attacker so he makes the fatal mistake of attaching 4 energy to Blastoise to do 100 damage. I drop Mewtwo and KO his Blastoise. He tries to make a comeback with his own Mewtwo and Kyogre but it doesn't really matter because he's not fast enough without Blastoise. I catcher any Squirtles he manages to get out and there wasn't really much he could do. I end the game by catchering his Mewtwo with 0 energy to KO it with my Mewtwo with 5 energy.

3-1

R5 vs. Darkrai/Hydreigon

I AGAIN get a T2 Night Spear. However, this time, it's not as devastating. He gets a Hydreigon and spams Max Potion. His Terrakion is prized, which would have screwed me over early game, but the Max Potions troll me to no end and my great start kind of fizzles out. I get a surprise Terrakion to KO one of his Darkrais, but even then I still just can't manage to take enough prizes. His Shaymin KO's my Terrakion, and I struggle to do much else. I end up losing on time by one prize.

3-2

R6 vs. Aspierta/Stuff

If I win this, I have a chance to cut. However, I get off to a HORRIBLE start. So does he, but his is slightly better than mine and he manages to draw a Juniper to get out of his bad situation. I Lands Judgement his Landorus for the KO on T3, but after that, I struggle to do much else. I actually manage to make it pretty close by smart playing and the use of Sableye and my own Mewtwo, but I simply don't have the resources left at the end for the win, and I lose after he Hammerheads my benched Sableye.

3-3

Props:
WINNING ROUND 2. FINALLY.
Getting revenge on Aaron for Regionals
T2 Night Spears all day, every day
Obliterating Emmett afterwards with the two best starts I have ever had or seen with this deck
Not playing Sam Chen or Michael Diaz, they had my two worst matchups

Slops:
Losing out of cut in the final round
Bought a pack, got crap. Tam buys three packs, gets FA Skyla.
No lunch break

Nanuet Cities

I got there early, borrowed a Tropical Beach from RogueChomp, and lent him my Tornadus EX. I play a bunch of practice matches against him, win most of them but lose to Empoleon/Dusknoir once because I kept drawing all three Blastoise and no Candy. Pairings go up, and it begins.

I'm playing an extremely consistent version of Keldeo/Blastoise that runs no healing.

Round 1 vs. Keldeo/Blastoise

....I hate mirrors. Not to mention that he went first and got 2 squirtle out T1. I assume I'm screwed despite my record of never losing Round 1. That is, until I get a really strong start also. He whiffs the T2 Blastoise which is HUGE and is forced to just attach to Keldeo again and pass. I proceed to explode with a T2 Blastoise and 7 energy on a Keldeo to knock out his. He makes a pretty quick recovery after getting his own Blastoise the turn after, but I kept up the momentum (I suddenly didn't regret playing 15 water and 4 Retrieval) and just kept taking prizes. In the end, he moves up a Keldeo BCR. He drops Mewtwo with 2 energy on it, then N's himself to 4 (and me to 2), hoping to get the energy to retreat to KO my Mewtwo. He get's an SSU, flips tails, groans, and passes. I get a Juniper, and draw a bajillion energy and a Catcher to finish the game for 320 on his Mewtwo.

1-0

Round 2 vs. Darkrai/Hydreigon

I was pretty confident about this matchup, and after having a great start, I was sure I would win. I once again get a T2 Blastoise while he struggles to get a Hydreigon up. I ONCE AGAIN do 170 damage T2 to his Keldeo EX. He really struggles to recover from this, although he plays Sigilyph which is annoying. He tries to stall with it, but I murder his Hydreigon with my OP Keldeo EX and he struggles even more. He gets another Hydreigon and basically just sits there, hoping I can't KO the Sigilyph while he pounds away with it. Blastoise ruins his dreams by KOing the Sigilyph, taking all the energy off the field. It wasn't long before I took my last few prizes, even though he got a Darkrai running shortly after that.

2-0

Round 3 vs. Keldeo/Blastoise

MIRRORS. MIRRORS EVERYWHERE. However, I go first and get the normal 2 Squirtle out. I N him away from an apparently god hand, and he fails to get a Squirtle T1. I take strong control with a T2 Blastoise and there isn't really much he can do. He manages to get a Blastoise up mid-game, but my entire field was set up and I was winning the prize trade, so no matter how many times he used N to stall me, it didn't matter. I 6-0'd him.

3-0

Round 4 vs. ....Quad Mewtwo/Landorus/Bouffalant?

Uhhhhhhh so this guy pretty much used Mewtwo as his main attacker, considering he ran FOUR of them and he slammed EXP shares on all of them to keep the flow of energy going. I get a decent start with Squirtles again, and truthfully I probably would have won if I I didn't beach 4 cards, only to see that I drew ALL FOUR RARE CANDY. My only supporters were Juniper, which I couldn't use because it would get rid of all of the Candy, and Bianca which was invalid because I had more than 6 cards in my hand. I basically just sit there, ad there's nothing I can really do, as he sets up. He N's me out of it eventually, but by that point he's KO'd most of my Squirtles and the simple fact that 3 Mewtwo, all with EXP shares, was impossible to stop. I have no way to stop the last prizes from being taken.

3-1

Round 5 vs. Landorus/Terrakion/Mewtwo/Virizion

Lol it's the guy who played Audino at last Cities. I was sort of concerned because I knew a T2 Virizion could be a problem, but I go first and his start sucks. He also starts Landorus EX, which is really bad for him. I get the normal T2 Blastoise and Keldeo and after I KO the Landorus EX, he has no energy or supporters, so he scoops.

4-1

Round 5 vs. Keldeo/Blastoise

Again?! Seriously?! Not to mention, he goes first and gets a great start. T2 Blastoise and Keldeo, and I'm in deep trouble. I also need to win this match if I want to cut. I struggle the entire game to keep up with his momentum and after he takes down my Blastoise, I'm in a tight spot. However, I get another one, and in a completely ridiculous move, I attach 4 energy to it, then drop Mewtwo with 1 energy. The last card in my hand is a Juniper. All I need is for him to knock out the Blastoise for his 5th prize, move up Mewtwo, and get an energy. He Skylas and I freak because I think he has the Catcher + Energy, which is what he needs. In fact, he does have it, but he FORGETS THAT MEWTWO CAN BE KNOCKED OUT WITH 6 ENERGY from a Keldeo. Wow. He falls right into the trap, KO's the Blastoise, and I get the energy off the Juniper for the win. Blastoise for MVP attacker of the day :3

5-1

I CUT!! YEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Top 8 vs. Angel Miranda w/ Rayeels

G1:

Ugh. This matchup sucks. I go first but he gets 4 Tynamo T1 and I despite my T2 Blastoise, I can't catcher KO any of them. He sets up perfectly and I struggle to keep up with the KO's, which is to be expected considering Rayeels can keep the KO's flowing easier. He KO's all of my EX's and even though I try to stall it out at the end, he has everything he needs to get the final KO for the game.

G2:

I get a worse start but I do start Mewtwo, which is certainly nice against Rayeels. I spam catchers to KO all the Tynamos which severely cripples his setup. I get the Blastoise around T3 and setup normally. He once again starts KOing all of my EX's very quickly, but he burns all 4 catcher in setting up, which opens up the board for me. I send up a Blastoise, knowing that he can't catcher around it, and KO an Eel for my 4th prize. I then use my Bianca in my hand to draw the rest of my deck, which is all Energy to KO the Rayquaza EX for the game.

G3:

Same as G1, unfortunately. He gets a godly start and simply takes more KO's then I do. I once again try to stall at the end. He's got the stuff he needs at the end and catcher's an EX to do 180 for the game.

Well, it's still cool that I cut. I play a few more random games against people and win all of them.

Props:
CUTTING FOR THE 1ST TIME. YEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAA

Plasma Storm Prerelease

I get there early, play a few games with Blastoise/Keldeo and win all of them. I'm there with a friend and he's like "I'm going to lol if I pull better stuff than you." We then sit down at get packs.

Well, I was hoping I would at least do better than my BCR prerelease, where I didn't even get a Skyla, much less an Ultra Rare. It looks like I'm in luck, because the first pack I open has a Dowsing Machine. NICE. I would have preferred Scramble Switch, but I can't complain. I turn to my friend, and, low an behold, he got a FA Victini EX. The card sucks but it's still worth something. I open my second pack, realizing full well that I probably wasn't going to get anything else good. This isn't the case though, as I notice the last card in the pack (I organize the cards before looking at them) has a bright, shiny border. I proceed to reveal a Gold Random Receiver. Pretty sweet. I open the rest of my packs and don't get much, although I pull a whopping 3 Crobats and zero Hypnotoxic Lasers or Virbank City Gyms >:0. My friend proceeds to pull a Lugia EX out of hit last pack, which he actually managed to sell for 42 dollars shortly after. I compile a deck of Piloswine (Quintuple Headbutt ftw), a bunch of other water attackers, and some fighting types like Lucario. My friend builds Heatmor + 39 Energy lololololol.

Round 1 vs. Stuff

I get benched. Didn't draw a basic for quite a while.

Round 2 vs. More stuff

I get to Quintuple Headbutt so I'm happy, and I get to show off my extremely shiny Random Receiver. I lose anyway because my deck sucks and whiffed energy for a lot of the game.

I get a bye R3. Not exactly the greatest tournament ever. My friend also went 1-2 from a bye but he apparently had some fun shenanigans with Heatmor. We sign up for the booster draft and take our seats.

I'm kinda bummed at this point about doing so badly in the tournament but w/e. I open my first pack...to reveal a beautiful FA Articuno EX, which cheered me up a bit despite that the card sucks. I decide to go for another water/fighting deck and take the cards I want for while snagging some other stuff I wanted also. In my second to last pack, I get a Plasma Energy, which I was super happy about because I could wreck in the draft with Articuno. I also get passed a Colress Machine, which is awesome too. I make the deck of Mamoswine/Articuno/Conkeldurr, get my energy, sleeve everything, and wait until pairings go up. I find out my friend pulled BKEX, which I rage about because it's actually a good card.

Round 1 vs. Tristen Wallace

My friend round 1? Interesting. I have pretty much the best start possible, starting Snorlax to stall him out with Lunatone and Articuno EX on the bench. He starts Vanillite and slowly begins to chip away at my Snorlax. I go into a sort of energy drought but I manage to hit enough of them before Snorlax is KO'd. I actually get an Escape Rope before Snorlax goes down and use it to switch to my benched Mamoswine. I Premonition with Lunatone and see a Plasma Energy as the second to top card. Smiling, I move it to the top and KO his active with Mamoswine's first attack. Tristen, fearing Mamoswine would sweep, sends up Black Kyurem EX and hits it for 200 damage. It was a massive misplay because he needed to save it for when my Articuno went up. I send up Articuno and pretty much just paralyzed the rest of his field to death. He uses a Hypnotoxic Laser but he flips tails and I end the game by Frost Prisoning everything.

1-0

Round 2 vs. Person

I topdeck Articuno EX around the third turn and just set it up while using some weak attacks with my active Timburr. I manage to take a prize, and low and behold, it's my 1 Colress Machine. I just sweep with Articuno EX paralysis and he can't do anything.

2-0

Round 3 vs. Frank Diaz

....excellent. Someone who got 3rd at Worlds. He gets a great start with Garbodor and I can't pull any basics, not to mention my Articuno EX is prized. He benched me T4.

2-1

Round 4 vs. Random Senior

He appears to be very new to the game and keeps forgetting to draw cards at the beginning of his turn. Anyway, I have a weak setup and barely manage to take one prize. It is, of course, my Articuno EX. I already have the Plasma Energy in my hand and I once again just sweep with it.

3-1

Round 5 vs. Other Person

He gets a Cobalion EX around T3 and I cant get anything out. My Piloswine makes a valiant effort but he dies shortly. I lose after he spams Steel Bullet 4 times to take 4 prizes.

3-2

So, I whiff packs, and the guy who got the packs that I would have gotten pulls White Kyurem EX, Victini EX, and Lugia EX >_>

Props:
Secret rare
Dowsing Machine
FA Articuno EX (sort of)

New York States

I arrive a little early, get Dark Energies from Emmett, and play a game against RogueChomp. I make a last second change to my deck and take out my lone Bianca for a Colress (which ended up not really mattering). Pairings go up and we start.

I'm playing Darkrai/Sableye/Lasers (or Speed Darkrai, whatever you want to call it)

Round 1 vs. Matt w/ Reshiram/Rayquaza/Emboar

Sooooo he goes first and opens with two Tepig and a Rayqauza, and I'm like "what?" He doesn't get a lot else out and just Singes me turn 1 with Tepig. I flip tails on burn, get a Sableye out, and proceed to Colress (damn you last minute change) but miraculously hit a Computer Search off of it and begin setting up. He proceeds to get an Emboar, but doesn't have anything else and just tried to burn me again with Tepig. I manage to get a Darkrai going and KO the Tepig, putting 30 on the benched Emboar. He gets a ridiculous amount of Energy and a switch to KO my Darkrai, leaving the only energy on my field on Sableye. I have a pretty bad next turn but set myself up to get another Darkrai the following turn. He then catcher KO's my Keldeo with Rayquaza (saying that he was worried about it one-shotting his attackers lolwut), putting me at 5 prizes while him at 2. I think I'm screwed (somehow, by Emboar) but I charge up another Darkrai, and in a risky play, play the Juniper in my hand instead of Ning him. I somehow get the Catcher and the Laser and KO his Emboar. The game was pretty much over after that point, he barely hit any energy and I just sweep his field with Darkrai. He doesn't take another prize.

1-0

Round 2 vs. Blastoise/Keldeo

Oook...so this guy tells me beforehand that he runs TWO Juniper and no beach, along with 11 Supporters total. I think I might have actually facepalmed right then and there. Of course, despite his lack of a well-built deck, he gets a turn 2 Blastoise and Keldeo and I'm pretty much screwed after not going first. I set up a Darkrai and KO a Keldeo, but he just KO's it with BKEX. I N him to 1 and I need to grab a Sableye to have a chance. Of course, my last two Sableye were prized. I go into an energy drought and he topdecks Skyla two turns later, letting him grab a supporter to win (he grabs Colress over the second Juniper, I'm not sure why but it didn't matter). I was pretty mad after this round due to the sheer horriblness of his build and that I lost because I prized two Sableye.

1-1

Round 3 vs. Rob (The father of Daddy from the forums lol) w/ Big Basics

...a really good player who got second at last States with his Big Basics deck. I'm sure I'm screwed, but I have a near-perfect start and he can't seem to hit the Catchers he needs. We trade prizes for a bit, but then I put him a really bad spot and force him to Max Potion instead of attacking. It turns the game around and to top it off, I Max Potion a 150 damage Darkrai a few turns later. He can't take enough prizes in time and despite that time was called, he can't stop me from taking my last prize off a Catcher.

2-1

Round 4 vs. Blastoise/Keldeo

T2 Blastoise but he can't do crap because I sleep his lone Keldeo for an unholy amount of turns. I KO the Keldeo, and he sweeps with BKEX. I didn't hit enough energy and he just takes all six prizes with it. At least guy was good (although he didn't talk the entire game which was kinda creepy), he ended up making cut at 6-1.

2-2

Before the next round, they called me over because I had won a prize. I was going to take the Scrafty mat, but some jerk got to it before me and I settled for a Darkrai binder, since I needed a new binder anyway.

Round 5 vs. Rayeels

I go first, he draws and passes on his first turn before topdecking an N the next (obviously). I get a really good start with a T2 Night Spear and I KO a lot of Eels and take prizes way to quickly for him to keep up. He barely even has energy on the field when I burn through him 6-0.

3-2

Round 6 vs. Mirror

He goes first, but whiffs the T1 Sableye while I get it and set up normally. I get the first attack off and he misses getting a Darkrai up somewhere down the line, and I just take the game from there. He tried to stall a lot by catchering the Keldeo and attempting to sleep it, but he flips tails like 4 times in a row and I win by sniping his 140 damage Keldeo on the bench.

4-2

Round 7 vs. Rayeels

I go first and his start sucks. He doesn't get enough Tynamo's out so he tries to stall me with Thunder Wave. He gets heads, and of course, this is the one match where my Keldeo EX is prized >_>. It doesn't matter much though, I KO his Rayquaza EX the next turn with 140 damage (plus 30 from HTL from earlier) and basically just proceed to destroy his set up. He finally manages to get a Rayquaza EX at the end of the game but it's too late, as time is called (he literally took a year for each of his turns) and he has no way to take 3 prizes in two turns.

5-2

Aaaaaaand I bubble because my resistance is complete garbage from the first two rounds. Sigh. I buy a pack for fun and pull a Dowsing Machine. Overall, not too bad of a day, hopefully I can not bubble at my next States.

I once again arrive early, play a few practice rounds against RogueChomp, win all of them, and pairings go up after about an hour because they didn't realize how many people would show up.

I'm playing Garbodor/Mewtwo/Landorus/Tornadus/Lasers

Round 1 vs. Kenny w/ Blastoise/Lugia/Articuno/Keldeo

...ok? I wasn't exactly sure what to think when I saw the Articuno and Lugia hit the field, but whatever. I get a turn 2 Garbodor after going first and he has no real way to do anything. I proceed to stack all four DCE on a Mewtwo and slaughter his entire field 6-0.

1-0

Round 2 vs. Lugia/Zapdos/Eels

...really. Anyway, I just send up Mewtwo again and force him into a Mewtwo war after getting up a T2 Garb. I make a crazy play where I hit my last HTL and a Catcher off a 5 card Colress. He doesn't really have anything after his last Mewtwo goes down and I sweep his field of Tynamos for the game.

2-0

Round 3 vs. Andrew w/ Quad Sigilyph/Mewtwo

...The sad thing is I'm not kidding. This was 2-0. I blinked a few times when I opened Landorus to his...3 Sigilyph. I get a T2 Garb though so it's not really a concern. He misses a crucial Catcher to take down the Garb and I just sweep with Mewtwo. Quad Sigilyph doesn't really work when they aren't protected from EX's.

3-0

Round 4 vs. Mirror

I go first and once again, my three Mewtwo come in handy. I keep the pressure going and he doesn't really have much to work with. We both just keep trading attacks but I'm taking prizes faster than him with Mewtwo at that point and I just win the prize trade.

4-0

Round 5 vs. Sam Chen w/ Blastoise/Keldeo

CRAP. Well, I start with nothing, and so does he to an extent. I get a T2 Garbodor but he catcher KO's it, proceeding to topdeck a Skyla a few turns later. I don't see a Trubbish or Ultra Ball (or Skyla for that matter) for the entire rest of the game, since both trubbish and Ultra Balls I had left were on the bottom of my deck. Not really much I can do in this matchup without a Garbodor up at all times.

4-1

Round 6 vs. David w/ Big Basics

This was a weird game. He literally does not flip heads for 99% of the game and has one of the worst starts I have ever seen, whiffing energy for 4 turns straight. I take some KO's but he manages to come back and after spreading around some with Landorus, he sets up a lot of KO's and then plays two crucial Max Potions to basically just give me zero chance of winning. I can't take enough prizes in time and he wins by taking out my last Mewtwo with his own.

4-2

Round 7 vs. Speed Darkrai

Well, this sucks. I was 4-0 and here I am about to lose out on cut 4-3. To make matters worse, I start with no Supporter and only one fighting energy, with a Landorus active. I manage to grab a Trubbish off an ultra ball, but that's about the extent of what I can do besides spreading damage with Landorus. That is, until he flips heads on Confuse Ray and I flip tails on Confusion and don't even get to attack. He manages to get a Darkrai up on like Turn 6 (I'm still drawing dead) and takes three prizes in one turn off the Trubbish and the Landorus. I move up a Tornadus I had topdecked and just sit there, waiting to lose 6-0 because of terrible draws. FINALLY, on like the 8th turn, I topdeck a Juniper. I'm assuming at this point that it doesn't matter, considering it's 6-3 and I have a very damaged field, but I play it...and proceed to whiff everything useful except for another Landorus. No energy, no HTL, nothing except 5 supporters. At this point, I'm really screwed. He's about to go up 6-1 and my only safe attacker left would be a Landorus (the Mewtwo on my field has 60 from snipes.) He does exactly this, and I'm pretty sure the game is over but I decide to keep playing because why not. I move up Landorus, topdeck a fighting energy, and Juniper into a half-decent hand. I KO his active Darkrai, and all he needs is a catcher and an HTL or Dark Claw to basically win. He doesn't have it though, and because of his completely dead hand, he decides to move up a Sableye instead of the Darkrai with three energy (which was heavily damaged, that's why he didn't want to put it in danger without knowing he get a KO. He then N's himself to one card and me to four, and passes. I use the Juniper I got off the N and spread another 30 to his Darkrai with 120 on the bench. He draws...and passes. I use Hammerhead again and KO his benched Darkrai, bringing me to two prizes left. He draws...attaches a Dark Claw to his Darkrai with 100 damage on it...and passes again. I Hammerhead once more, bringing his benched Darkrai to 130. He draws...and he STILL HAS NOTHING. I use the Skyla in my hand to grab my last Catcher and KO the final Darkrai for the game. I still can't believe that I actually won this game.

5-2

After about 10 minutes of nervous pacing, they announce the Top Cut list. I'm at 13th seed and am super happy that I didn't bubble considering my first round opponent was an 0-2 drop.

Top 16 vs. Dylan Dreyer w/ Big Basics

Do I always have to play my worst matchups in Top Cut?

Game 1: I go first with a Landorus start and begin spreading around like normal. I, noticing two Bouffalants, begin to shovel energy on to the Landorus to start using Judgement. Everything goes according to plan and it might have been foiled had he drawn into ANY Energy over the course of about 4 turns. He whiffs the DCE off of 3 Junipers and doesn't draw any basics either, so I bench him after OHKOing both Bouffalants.

Game 2: Open lone Trubbish to his Mewtwo DCE. Of course.

Game 3: I start Tornadus and no supporters. Better yet, I don't draw a supporter for 6 straight turns. When I do finally draw a Bianca, I don't draw a basic or an Ultra Ball off of it and I get benched by a Bouffalant shortly after. Hooray for terrible luck.

Well, Top 16 sucked, but I got some CP and made cut. Next goal: actually win a Top Cut match.

PF Prerelease + Booster Draft
I hate intros so yay.

Pulls:
FA Tornadus EX
Rock Guard
Absol
2 Float Stone
2 Superior Energy Retrieval
1 Team Plasma Ball

Heck yes for amazing pulls.

Deck: Tornadus EX/Absol/Bisharp/Primape

Round 1 vs. Tristen

Lololol my friend round 1 again. He gets Heatran EX out really early and puts me in a bad spot, but Rock Guard comes to my aid, he's forced to just kill his own Heatran EX to stay alive, and Absol sweeps the rest of his field.

1-0

Round 2 vs. ???

I get a Tornadus EX out early and spam Windfall until I hit enough energy to sweep through him.

2-0

Round 3 vs. ???

Same as round 2.

3-0

The draft starts after a while. It's unfortunately only a 4 pack draft. To my dismay, my first pack has reverse Frozen City, a Float Stone, a Superior Energy Retreival, and a Chandelure. I decide to take the Frozen City. I open my second pack...THUNDURUS EX. WIN. My last two packs sucked and I move onto deckbullding.

Deck: Thundurus EX/Espeon/Cofagrigus (six feet under)/Umbreon/Bisharp

Round 1 vs. ???

He starts Eevee and gets a quick Glaceon out. Uh oh. My only basic is Pachirisu, which takes 60 damage. I draw...grimer. Phew. I bench it and spam lure poison to stall. Eventually, I topdeck Thundurus EX, and I take the game from there.

1-0

Round 2 vs. ???

He starts Cacnea and soon evolves into Cacturne, with a Pawniard on the bench. I get a crazy fast Thundurus EX and Umbreon to troll him and KO the Cacturne after a little while. He moves up Pawniard and hits for 10. I use Six Feet Under to do 30 the Pawniard, then KOing it with Thundurus EX.

2-0

Round 3 vs. ???

This game was intense. I start Thundurus EX and begin getting a lot of damage on the field early. He KO's it with Esepon, and I proceed to Shadow Triad it back into my hand. Unfortunately, he gets his Latios EX, and I misplay by not getting an Umbreon out. I'm forced to spam Bisharp to discard his energy, but he topdecks a Psychic for the win.

2-1

Round 4 vs. Noah

He starts Absol and no dark energy. I start Thundurus EX and begin hitting for big damage, after which I Six Feet Under + Raiden Knuckle for the game.

3-1

I get 3rd (stupid misplay) and win two packs. I open the first one...FA DEOXYS EX. SWEEET. I open the second one...KYUREM. LOLOLOL. Turns out the misplay in round 3 actually helped me out.

Props:

Nanuet Battle Roads:

Intros are lame. I'm playing Plasma.

Round 1 vs. Frankie Durso w/ Landorus/Cobalion/Garbodor

Oof. Literally a straight up counter deck to mine, and it's a good player. I go first and get a ton of damage on his board very early on before he can get a Garbodor out. I take 4 prizes extremely quickly and he finally gets his Garbodor and begins to recover. He is forced to use Tornadus to KO my Kyurem, so I hit him for 60 with Thundurus. I have a fully charged Kyurem on my bench. He N's, and I get a N, Colress, and draw a Juniper. I colress for 9 to hit the catcher for the game on his Tornadus....and I whiff. Of course >_>. The prizes are now 2-3 me. Time is called very shortly afterwards. He strands a Deoxys active and racks up damage with Cobalion before time is called, so he's pretty set to take two prizes and win. I N myself to two...hit a catcher, and catcher up Garbodor. He whiffs on switch so I win on time.

1-0

Round 2 vs. Plasma

I go first and start hitting stuff with Thundurus, and he literally cannot hit any energy. I miss a crucial Hpyno and he heals a ton of damage of his Thundurus with Max Potion which is really annoying, but he's so far behind at this point that he doesn't have much of a way to recover. I take a ton of prizes while he literally can't do crap. He N's and charges up a Snorlax at the end of the game, but it doesn't matter because I have a fully charged Deoxys to hit it for 180 (time was called, but I took my sixth prize off the Snorlax)

2-0

Round 3 vs. Big Basics?

Derp, this was 2-0. He starts Mewtwo and I get a crazy start and hit is Mewtwo for 80, with poison and a Virbank out turn 1. He misses basics, catchers a Deoxys to stall, but he goes up to 110 in between turns and I have the switch to my Thundurus for the win.

3-0

Round 4 vs. Micheal Skoran w/ Gothitelle/Accelgor/Dusknoir

This guy really needs points so I decide to scoop to him, but we play out two games anyway. I donk him game 1 and I sweep his field of Gothitas game 2. Ah well, I did something nice.

3-1 (technically 4-0 if you dont count the scoop)

Round 5 vs. Angel Miranda w/ really unorthodox Plasma

REVENGE FOR CITIES TIME. He goes first with a decent start, and I do pretty much the same. He gets a fast Lugia and takes three prizes of my Thundurus, but the Lugia goes down right after that. Kyurem pretty much burns through his field from there. He actually makes a misplay because he thinks I only have two prizes left when I actually have 3, so he doesn't charge up his Lugia when he could have. In the end, he just can't get an attacker going in time and Kyurem takes the game.

4-1 (5-0 if you don't count the scoop)

Round 6 vs. Plasma

He goes first but doesn't have a great start. I get the regular start of a couple Thundurus and a Kyurem. I charge up a Kyurem really fast and begin to destroy him with Kyurem + Keldeo + Float Stone. He manages to take down one Kyurem but I have a second ready to go and I just win. Can't really do anything when you can't get an attacker going.

5-1 (6-0 if you don't count the scoop)

I finish 3rd, and the TO didn't have the prizes on hand so I'm getting mailed them. Not a bad day, never actually lost a game lol.

I can't help but think that this is sarcasm.

It's sad because it's not. Every time he flipped, he needed one more heads for the KO. I would have lost (Yes, lost to Audino. That's how bad my start was.) if he had flipped those heads. Lucky me.

Congrats on the top 8! Let's hope this is only a start and you'll have many more performances like this or even better in the future. :]
