Hello everyone, today I shall be posting my blastoise/floatzel deck list.

POKEMON:21
4 Mantine HGSS
3-3 Floatzel Unleashed
4-3-4 Blastoise Unleashed

T/S/S:24
4 Pokemon communication
2 Professor Elm's training method
3 Switch
2 Copycat
2 Professor Juniper
1 Flower shop lady
1 Energy retrieval
2 Inteviewer's questions
3 Pokemon collector
4 Rare candy

Energy:15
11 Water
4 DCE(Double colorless energy)

Since this deck is quite popular their isn't much to discuss, but nethertheless I shall explain the strategy used in my deck

Blastoise:http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_EqYSOZLTe9s/S-YRdp_fBjI/AAAAAAAAANI/NBEkdc6xt4I/s1600/13-blastoise.jpg
The main attacker,130(enough to survive blue flare/bolt strike) HP and the ability to snipe for 100 is a force to be reckoned with. However the drawback of having to return 2 energy to your hand is easily handeled with Floatzel.

Floatzel:http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_EqYSOZLTe9s/TEWHkDDNSKI/AAAAAAAAAWg/ef0eSaQDXbE/s1600/16-floatzel.jpg
He's just used to power up Blastoises snipes via his poke-power

Mantine:http://pokemoncollectors.guckies.com/images/mantine2.gif
The ideal starter, his first attack group swim for a [W] energy can search your deck for a water pokemon and put into your hand.

Squirtle,Wartortle, and Buizel:Just pre evelutions that serve no purpose other then getting out your main attacker.

I run this deck so heres somthing I saw.
-4 mantine
+3 Cleffa
+1 Tyrouge
Cleffa isa much better starter and Tyrouge is used to knock out your opponets cleffas.

Note in testing cleffa is soooo much better than mantine.

put feraligatr prime in it and remove the floatzel line.

minus 3/3 floatzel
plus 3/3 feraligatr

feralligatr is to attach more energy easely.

IMO, Manaphy>Cleffa, especially in BlastZel. You can use the energy used for its attack for Wash Out bait later in the game, and it has free retreat too. Cleffa is flippy, and if you flip badly, you're stuck with a 30 HP Pokemon in your active spot. I'd say try out Manaphy UL, its great in this deck.

-4 Mantine
+4 Manaphy

Try it out, and if you don't like it, don't use it, as I'm not forcing you to do anything.

Also, you need more hand refresh. So...

-2 Switch
+2 PONT

Copycat isn't always reliable.

1: You can't have a 3-3 line of Feraligatr lol
2: Gatr is even more slower now that we don't have BTS and that Rare Candy was slowed.
3: Floatzel has free retreat, which will be crucial in a format ridden with Catcher next year when it comes out.

So keep Floatzel.

Hmmm.IL try out some of your suggestions(I have a lot of playtesting to do)then I will make another thread with the finished list.

I play this deck and love manaphy instead of cleffa. Basic pokemon can ko celffa easy if you flip bad but manaphy stays longer but it may cost a water but with a free retreat cost you can pull that energy up with blastoise.

Floatzel is way faster then Feraligator.

The only downside to this deck is its weakness to zeckrom/magnazone. I put a 1-1 donphan prime but I am thinking of putting 1-1 or 2-2 zoroark.

Also think about puting in pokemon reversal to hopefully pull up thier emboar to do 200 damage.

... When pokemon catcher comes out you won't be able to survive by using floatzel, it will get dragged up and then knocked out.
IMO Mantine is the best starter for this deck as you can get out any pokemon you need... also you may want to consider dropping your blastoise line to 3-2-3 because if you lose 3 blastoise.. then the game is pretty much over.

Zekrom and Magnezone prime deck=autoloss so I would teck in maybe a 1-1 donphan just in case you cant get set up quickly enough

And? Same with Gatr. Even if you wanna retreat when they don't OHKO you, its still four energy you're wasting.

Gatr has 140 hp... and a grass weakness. not to mention you should be running switch.

@kiefer: zekrom is your hardest match up only because it outspeeds you, Magnezone is a close second but really it comes down to who ever sets up first.

Oh boy, just when i finished my new list here comes more post!Looks like more play testing for me(but I'm not complaining=D).But if anyone has anything else to add i will still check this thread regularly.
