So I'm competing at a regional event and wonder which would be better attacker I was using gyarados for a while but having issues with getting powered quick and decking out and looking for advice on which would be better

Specifically, which Gyrados or EX and Blastoise or EX?
Ex mega just not sure which to run as attacker
I'd suggest you compare each Basic, as well as each Mega considering such things as Retreat Cost, time to power-up, damage output, etc. Even then, test each deck. I suspect you'll find your answer after comparing the 2 lines and testing...
