Thought this was pretty interesting.

But Bleach is too awesome to be copied!! I now officially now hate Nick Simmons *glares at NS from six states away*.

Bleach just cannot be plagiarized. Same with any anime for that matter. But somehow I think this will turn out the same as the Uri Gellar thing, but maybe not. Seems like it.

Really? What I've read and seen of it it's pretty mediocre.

Plagiarism happens, I'd have to actually read Incarnate to really form an opinion though.

Don't say that in front of TSL... oO The fact that he tried to actually copy some of the pages is ridiculous!! Did he actually think he could get away with that?!

Who is TSL? Honestly very few people on this forum scare me at all, I think I am allowed to express my opinions.

If you are going to plagiarized something, you should pick something less popular than bleach.

Well said. If NS were to publish another one Tate Kubo would eventually hear about it and would sue.

Wins thread. Bleach is the second most popular Shonen Manga (behind Naruto.) Odds are, if you plagiarize a manga that popular, you can easily get caught. Above all, looking more through that link, I can see that Incarnate copied like, 80 scenes or something. Not so smart >0

I believe you mean 'IN AMERICA', as One Piece's popularity blows those two out of the water :p It is the highest-selling manga in the history of WSJ. Yes, it even passed Dragon Ball.

There's no point in plagiarizing unpopular series because chances are if they are unpopular they aren't as attractive to the mainstream audience.

Yes, but that is the market for incarnate.

If a manga is unpopular, then there is a reason it's unpopular. If the person who decides to plagiarize it knows why it didn't succeed, then makes a knockoff that fixes those errors, then the knockoff will become more popular than the original.

Here's an example, though non-manga. Ever heard of The 39 Steps? It was an early spy thriller movie that contains elements that would later become iconic with James Bond.

Never read bleach, but just looking at those pictures is really enough conclusive evidence for me. I guess the pressure just got to the artist. You have to remember, many people who do things like this aren't bad people or theives at heart, btu often under a lot of stress and need to perform huge amounts of work by a deadline that they can't make. The altertanative isn't bearable, and they turn to the dark side :(

Of course behaviour like this is never excused. Someone has an apology to make.

Hey, an update: Nick Simmons has confessed that he took ideas from Bleach. He says it was supposed to be an homage, not a ripoff. The publisher has now stopped printing Incarnate now that it knows about this.
