Breakthrough Bronzong Deck

With the quickly approaching release of the new set Breakthrough i have begun looking at a new standard deck to build. Reading through the Red Flash cards that have been released one quickly caught my eye. The new Bronzong has a ton of potential in my eyes. So I turned to Pokebeach for help from the experts.

Deck List:
Pokemon:

3 Bronzor - Breakthrough
3 Bronzong - Breakthrough (Pain Amplifier, 30 damage to each pokemon with damage counters on it, Two Colorless energy)
3 Spinda - Primal Clash 115
2 Bronzor - Phantom Forces 60
2 Bronzong - Phantom Forces 61
2 Dialga EX - Phantom Forces 62

Spinda and the new Bronzong would be used to spread damage. Have spinda using uproar for as long as possible till Bronzong is ready and then send in Bronzong to use pain amplifier. Use the Phantom Forces Bronzongs for metal links to pull discarded energy and set up faster. Dialga is for protection and is very good for EX pokemon.

Thoughts on this deck idea? All help is greatly appreciated and im still not very good at picking supporters/ items so give me all your thoughts.
Thank You!

Just so you know, you can't have more than 4 Bronzong in a deck, even if they are different cards.

That's true. I completely overlooked that. Would you suggest a 2-2 line of each? Or just a 1-1 line of the phantom forces bronzor/bronzong?

If your primary attackers are Bronzong Breakthrough and Spinda then you'll probably be wanted higher counts of each. I would recommend 4 Spind and 3-3 Bronzong. That'll leave you with a single Bronzong PHF spare. I'm not sure it's the best use of space, although it could be decent.

So maybe I should try:
3 Bronzor - Breakthrough
3 Bronzong - Breakthrough
4 Spinda - Primal Clash 115
1 Brozor - Phantom Forces 60
1 Bronzong - Phantom Forces 61
2 Dialga - Phantom Forces 62

Grand total of 14 pokemon leaving me 46 cards left for supporters/items and energy

I actually like this deck idea quite a lot.

I would also suggest 3-3 and 1-1 (PF) for Bronzong like others have, though that may make charging Dialga up a bit of a chore, so make sure you don't rely on Dialga too much. If you find yourself having to bring up Dialga a lot in testing, try 2-2 and 2-2.

Happy to see Spinda get some attention. :D

Well thank you haha now I just need to figure out supporters/items and energy

Just curious, any particular reason you went with 3 Breakthrough and 1 Phantom Forces for Bronzor?

been working on this deck for a bit, heres a rough list

pokemon 19
4 -3-1 bronzong (3 breakthough/1 phf)
2 spinda
3-3 forretress
2 aegislash ex (or other big ex to stall maybe water to help with all the fire weakness, M Gallade ex maybe?)
1 shaymin ex

trainers 29
3 prof sycamore
2 prof birch's observations
2 AZ
2 Wally
3 lysandre
1 teammates
3 ultra ball
1 sacred ash
3 trainers' mail
1 switch/escape rope
3 float stone
3 vs seeker
2 forest of giant plants.

energy 12
4 dce
8 metal

the reason I add the forretress is its ability lets you place a damage counter on each of your opponents poke, and can be used turn one with forest of giant plants to do 10-40 (more with AZ/super scoop up/etc) spread dam before you attack. so if your going second you can hit that 30 spread from bronzong right off the bat.

damage range for this type of deck is 40-70 with 4 forretress drops + 80 possible more from super scoop up and devolution spray in expanded = max 150 spread turn 1. course that requires 1-1 bronzong + wally + dce, forest of giant plants + 4-4 forretress line + 4 super scoop up (heads) and 4 devolution sprays for a total of 21 cards. that's powerful but it takes 1/3 of your deck to pull off

Like bbninjas said if bronzong and Spinda are my main attackers I would want a heavier side of those.
And I'll try and see. If I do end up relying heavily on Dialga I'll switch to a 2-2 line of each as you had suggested

Wow thank you so much for the help! I knew the deck had a lot of potential it just needed an expert to make it work!
For the big ex Pokemon to stall why not Wailord EX? Stops the fire weakness and has massive health. The drawback is the retreat cost but with AZ and float stones it may be possible?

I asked about Bronzor, not Bronzong. :p I am curious why you went with the 1 PF Bronzor instead of 4 Breakthrough Bronzor (the Basic pre-evo dude).

Oh! My bad hahah I guess there isn't a reason to run the PF bronzor. I'll stick with the breakthrough one haha

PF's Bronzor does have a smaller retreat, but less HP and a useless attack. Breakthrough's attack has some late-late-game desperation potential and slightly higher HP, but higher retreat. Maybe keep that in mind when testing in case you find yourself stuck with the 2 retreat cost a lot (though in general it shouldn't be an issue).

I will definitely keep that in mind. I will test both and see which will work better. Thank you so much for all the help.

So I realized two Bronzongs of each line may be beter because the metal links ability would stack up. Any thoughts?

It depends on how much you plan to use Dialga vs. using Bronzong.

If you are using Dialga a lot, I would agree that 2/2 for the Bronzongs would be best. Otherwise, since Breakthrough's Bronzong can attack with a DCE, needing metal acceleration isn't as vital.
