ok i just wanted you to look at the thread thats why i tricked you by useing your taste buds..haha :D

I just wanted to know how most people get there cards and if you do more then one of the listed items tell us which one you do the most and why....

personally i buy 1 booster box of the set and then stop from there and only buy singles i need at that point...why you may ask because it saves me so much money only buying 1 box rather then buying 36 seperate packs i save atleast 60-70 dollars doing it this way!!!

Usually I just buy a Booster Box for each set and just get everything else with the trading material in there that I don't need. The rest of my cards I usually get from a bunch of tournaments. I occasionally buy singles online if I can't get what I need from trading. Prolly just Windstorms/Holon Transceivers/Holon Castforms come from online for me.
 
I saw this site last week where all uncommons went for about 0.50 dollars, 'cept the Transceiver, Rare Candy and the Castform...those went for 10 dollars or so each xD Madness, I tell ya.
 
Madness is right! Cards become commodities and people will jack the prices to the moon like you wouldn't believe!
 
People should just all stop playing Transceivers. Then the prices of Scott and Castaway will sky-rocket and I have loads of those =P heh.
Btw Snow, I mostly buy those huge cardboard things with 4 boosters attached to it and a Combusken and Mudkip promo. Other than that, I sometimes buy single DF and HP boosters. I bought loads of PK boosters in the past but they aren't really worth it. For D/P, I might buy a booster box too. Depending on how popular the set will be in my region (The Netherlands that is)
 
You tricked me! I usually get cards by trade or I buy them every once in a while. I don't buy or trade online because you never know what might happen. I also go to Prereleases and I KICK SERIOUS BUTT!! I always get first or second.
 
oh man! I really wanted that brownie. I get my cards by getting them off the internet, and buying booster boxes every once in a while, but I usually just buy single packs. (Of course I can't get a job because I'm 12, so money doesn't come easy for me.)
 
Hey no fair! I wanted brownies. Nevermind... Usually I buy a booster box and tell myself to complete the set by buying singles. However, because I have a booster addiction I tend to buy boosters even if I really should not (like only needing one card in a set).

I usually buy singles cause I don't have a job yet to have me money to buy a box. But on earlier editions I did that. Or I buy the 4 packs with 1 promo in it. I don't have much money and in our country, they put on much taxes. Imagine the currency rate $1.00 = Php45. something (in Philippines) when you compute it, I must only pay Php540 something ($12 something) to get a deck but instead I'm paying Php600+ ($13+). The Php60 difference is big in our place.:(
 
yeah boosters are addicting.... you know how it is walking into the store and your booster sense start tingling and you are helpless to its powers... why do we buy packs that are worth $4 on the shelf un-opened and knowing we will probably get a $1 rare inside? it just doesn't make sence how the mystery of the booster pack can blur all are minds into spending money on packs when it would be cheaper to buy the singles!!! haha!!! i glad to see i'm not the only one with the booster pack curse :D i stay away from my local card shops unless i need to be there for a tourny because the booster pack always wins in the stare down at the check out counter!!! :D love hearing your comments and i'm sorry thats there's no brownies :D
 
i get most of my cards from pre-releases, and then trade for what i need. i get a box about every 3 or 4 sets(limited funds, not yet broke enough to get a job but it wont be long now HA) but often get the EX's i am least looking for :(
 
yeah a case of what??? :D i would rather buy different boxes if you have enough $$$ for a case... i would buy something like 2 DP, 2 PK, 2 DF that would be better becasue a case sounds cool but its just way to many of the same cards... i know people who buy cases and they just have way to many cards of the same dang type!!! hundreds of hundred of commons, its pointless for a player to buy a case only retailers buy them for their stores.... really go for a few of each set i'm sure you will be pleased with the out come rather then getting a case and pulling your 7-8th Dailga DP and only be on the 2nd booster box, it could happen..do you really want 15 Dialga??? probably not!!! :D if you really have that kind of money just spend it on different boxes!!! good luck
 
But for now I think you can buy many DP box set and trade the other cards for poor guys like us (who doesn't have DP yet in our country).:)
 
If you have enough money to buy 6-8 boxes of pokemon cards and you spend it on pokemon only, then you're either a pokemon nerd or you are too stupid to buy stuff like video games and candy or watever. Personally, I would use half of that to buy stocks and half of it on pokemon. That way, you would have a lot of good pokemon cards and you could have just possibly invested in some pretty good companies.
 
I usually buy boosters whenever I can because they are cheaper than boxes by a long shot. I have always wanted a booster box and was going to get one when EX emerald came out but it was well over $100.00 but I wanted it but could not get it.:)
