Standard Budget Anti-Meta That Never Loses The Prize Trade (Almost Completely Post-Rotation)

The goal: Spread damage early with Koko or Latios, then hit for weakness. I can take out almost any GX in the game with a one-shot with some item and trainer help.

Baby Golisopod is my main attacker if I can’t readily hit for weakness.

If I’m losing, I use counter energy with the more expensive attackers. If I’m winning, I use the DCEs and a rainbow energy.

There are a couple of different directions I could go with this deck. I was considering adding a Silvally or two for free retreat and some energy acceleration. I would swap out some Pokémon of the same type for their respective Silvally memory tools. I also want to try to fit a Xerneas (BS) to have a backup attacker that can OHKO a basic GX with a Choice Band and Kukui. I want to add some multi-switches to make it easier to move energy around in case I’m forced into placing it on a bad matchup attacker early in the game.

Any ideas on which way to go with this one?

any chance you can update this with the sets these cards are from? just to clarify....

Why don't you replace the 3 basic grass fire and water energies and instead add 3 unit energy? It would help you use what you need a lot more often.

Maybe use some counter energy? Also this Smeargle could be useful here.

Which cards were you wondering about? I use the draw ability Oranguru and the Turtonator that has 130 HP and a 70 attack for a fire and DCE. All of the Pokémon are from Sun & Moon on.

That’s a good idea, but I’m worried about what to do if I get pitted against a Xurkitree GX. Any ideas? Will the Escape Ropes and Guzma be enough, or will that hamper my ability to get a good matchup later in the game too much?

Good call on counter energy. I have it on my list of cards to swap in. Any other ideas? BTW I appreciate the Smeargle suggestion, but I’m trying to keep as many of the cards ready for this year’s rotation as possible (and I don’t have one). Speaking of that, what do you think I should do about special charge when the time comes?

Hmmm, as of now there is no other real way to recycle special energy. Maybe we will get something in May or August.

I’ve tweaked this deck to be a bit more focused on bulkier basics with more powerful attacks. It’s also updated at the top with some of the strategy. Any suggestions?

Bump. I made another round of changes, which I showed at the top of the thread. Let me know what you think, especially about the Lycanroc possibilities and post-rotation!
