hello all I have got a question (duh)

Im building up my pokemon card collection but I got a problem regarding "trading doubles"
you see when you have two of the same card you ushully trade it right?
but what if I need more than one copy of the same card in my deck what now?
the rules say you can have up to 4 of the same cards in a deck however if I only trade away my 5th version of a card Ill never compleate mt collection
so how do you suggest I solve my problem? what do you do with your cards?

hope that wasent to confusing please help as soon as you can
thanks bye:)

It depends entirely on your priorities. some people will trade anything to improve a deck, like me and my friend. some ppl will always keep 1 of everything unless they can trade it for something better. I personally think that 5 of a card is trade bait, but It's up to you. If you want 4 in your deck and 1 in a binder or something, that's fine, but most ppl won't really care if its in your deck.

Obviously, the exception is basic energy cards lol

If I was in your situation (having 4 in a deck and 1 in a binder) I would just keep it that way? It would be cool to be able and show off a binder with the full set list, in my opinion.

i wonder if i should chim in here

Im currently doing a godbook of sorts on the gym, and i collect only 4 of each card. I will rarely trade a card in my book for another. It takes time to finish the project (its in its 3rd year now and only 77% complete)

Just get trade fodder from other sets and try your best!

well if you guys say I should take the long route then I will
thanks for all the help espesingly ( < not spelled right ) with that trade cards from other sets idea DukeFireBird
thanks again!

Try to have 1 copy of each card, build your deck (4 cards etc) and trade the other cards. Remember you only need 1 deck, so the cards in it should be the only ones that are in your collection in more than 1 copy. Then, when you build a new deck, sell the 2,3,4, cards, and continue your collection.
If you do it by the 5th copy, it will take a lot of money and time to complete.
So if you are rich and patient....

I see what you mean but what if I find a flaw in my deck and I need to ad new cards but I sold/traded them what then?
