So the day before was pretty much a disaster; I ran Charizard, won round 1 and proceeded to lose 4 in a row :/ (In order: bad start, chenlocked (ran out of pokemon), chenlocked (ran out of pokemon), DGX locked (could have played it smarter but alas)).
For Sunday I decided to run RDL since, well, why not? The deck tested positively at league, but I knew I would have a heck of a time winning anything, especially against trainer lock. Goal for the day: Bust the ozone just once. Not too much to ask for right? RIGHT???!??!!!?!?!
Round 1
Radar vs. Being Late
I took a first round loss for being late; the only way I convinced the PTO to let me play was by telling her my plan of dropping no matter what. So 0-1
Round 2
Radar vs. Bye
I started by walking over to the pairings. I read it and that bye stood no chance. I felt pretty confident throughout. There were a couple moments when the momentum shifted for a turn or two, but I was pretty much in control throughout. GG
Round 3
Radar vs. Mac Growley
I played this kid yesterday (one of the ones that chenlocked me). We open Sableye to Sableye; I win the toss and go first. I collector and have an awesome hand, next turn I might get RDL rage going. He top decks collector, Flash bite, Spec Dark GG. -.-
So I have one final game left to RDL rage.
Round 4
Radar vs. Joe
The day before I had traded Joe some stuff he needed to build Charizard and guess what he ran in this match? So I open Dialga to his Charmander and go first. It's a bad start, but with a collector in hand and two energies, I can doble attach and retreat for Sableye next turn. I attach and pass. He goes, rare candy for Charizard, Bebe's for Uxie, attach energy, set up for 5, Cyndaquil and Charmander on bench, Fire Wing for the donk.
...
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO NO RDL RAGE WHY JOE JONAS WHY
Oh the irony. I feel like Ash every time the 'Zard burns him. (Ha! Get it... burn).
I played Joe for fun afterward and actually won, RDL sweeping left and right like a highly paid maid.
Round 5
I was too caught up in the fun game to drop, and I didn't know if my sis would make top cut. She didn't, so I just conceded my final match.
Oh well. Made some okay trades, we scored another Umbreon prime in a pack, and got a Rumble game.
Props:
Sis for getting 4th
Sander top 2 (did you win did you did you)
GF for going (again)
Running RDL rage
Slops:
Shortest. Report. Ever.
