Discussion Can Bats Go Faster?

Currently spending my evenings frantically figuring out how to maximise damage output in Lucario/Bats. The main issue I've had in previous builds is that I often had a Crobat in hand, but no Golbat to evolve Zubat with, and that was with a 4-3-3 line. So after a series of trial and error decks, I think I have come up with a solution: 4-3-2 line with 2 Rare Candy. To me, it made sense, use Korrina to fetch, say, a Lucario-EX, and then fetch a Rare Candy, this way, I'm able to do more damage, sooner, rather than later. Of course, it may get cloggy if you draw into Golbat the turn after, but, having 2 Zubats on your bench is pretty much crucial for this particular combination to go off.

Is there anyone else out there who has had a similar issue, or have a different remedy.

Thanks beach-goers!

I think Pokémon Communication would do the job better. You wouldn't prefer to Rare Candy into Crobat since when you play AZ or Super Scoop Up, you wouldn't be picking up a Golbat with it. Unless this is Standard.

Communication in Expanded is a godsend! 10/10 would use 2 instead of Rare Candy, however, this is aimed at the Standard format.

I personally play a 4-4-3 with 1 Sacred Ash / Super Rod in Standard. That way, even if you have to discard multiple Crobats because you don't have a Golbat on the field, you can still have a chance to get them back later in the game. That's what I've been doing anyway.

Playing two Level Ball generally helps flood the Bench with Bats. Don't play Rare Candy. The only reason Crobat is competitively viable is because it has a good pre-evolution.
