Can I go to the World Championships?

I don't live too far from San Diego and would love to go and watch the tournaments. Are spectators welcome?

I searched everywhere for an answer but could only find information for players.
 
You have to get in LCQ but I do not know if there are still spots in LCQ but your best chance of finding that out is if you Email the pokemon company.

I'd assume no, just because it can get distracting, but you never know.
 
Yes anyone can come. There is a roped off area where people play, but it is still easy to watch games. And they have the final mathches on big screens.
 
I actually went to San Diego worlds last time it was there and he is more than welcome to go watch the tourney. He can also play in grinders if he wants. Not sure why you think all the spots are taken, there is no way to register for it yet. It's first come first serve. Also they have plenty FREE side events for anyone to enjoy. All are welcome so please come and support pokemon if you live close!

But now I have even more questions:
Is there an admission fee for non-players?
Do you just park in the hotel parking lot?
Do you need to arrive early to make sure you are allowed in?
 
No admission fee.
Not sure about the hotel situation, but if you can find some place to park, you're good.
Depends. Do you want to compete in the last chance qualifiers? (Tournament where the best players advance to Worlds the next day) If you do, you'll have to get there early but if you want to go just to watch matches and spectate, you can go at any time.
 
Last time I went the hotel parking was $20. Thats pretty pricey, but the hotel is in downtown so you can try and find cheaper parking there and take a short walk to the hotel.

I'm just a casual player so I'm not in the league, I just want to check it out and enjoy some good matches.

Btw, are there other things going on besides the tournament? Like vendors, exhibitions, or areas to play friendly games?

You can just play friendly games at the league? I heard you can win playmats there.

I stopped by my local league a while back and it was pretty sad, just one 8yr old playing on his DS. :/

ontopic: go to worlds if you can there are lots of side events and I've heard the event is really fun.

XD But yeah there is a lot going on at the National Championship, you won't get bored because there will be someone wanting to battle.

Sorry for asking so many questions, but I could of sworn that I seen a schedule of all the events each day on Pokemon.com. But now I can't find it. Has anyone see that schedule?
