Dear professors,

This question has long been irrelevant, but now I seek an answer. If Caterpie's ability has been activated and deactivated during the same turn. Would it still be able to evolve? Or is it an temporary effect that can only be used when the ability is activated?

Are you thinking what I'm thinking? (Sorry for the large images)

The Ability has to be "on" in order to be used. If it has been turned off, it doesn't "linger" for the rest of the turn or anything like that.

And I unfortunately have no idea what you're thinking :p

Haha oh well thanks,

I thought it was worth asking because of the recently revealed 'Ninja Kid'. Although there is no english scan yet, here's the current translation for those who are interested.

Ninja Boy – Trainer
Supporter

Search your deck for a Basic Pokemon and switch it with 1 of your Basic Pokemon in play. (Any cards attached to that Pokemon, damage counters, Special Conditions, and effects on it are now on the new Pokemon.) Shuffle the first Basic Pokemon into your deck.

You may play only 1 Supporter card per turn (before your attack).

So I guess evolving mega evolutions & stage 1 Pokémon turn one is a no go :p No big deal... I can think of ten more ways to use Ninja Kid.
