• When creating a thread in the Deck Garage, make sure that you post one deck per thread, you use the correct prefix, you have the set name/card number next to each card, you give a strategy for non-metagame decks, and give translations for all cards not available in English.

Hey!
I've Just registered here :)
I'm Alexander and i've just started my Journey with the Pokemon TCG.
I was browsing many times this forum, for some deck lists and to read many very interesting posts.
I live in town Gdynia in Poland, but sadly there aren't any players to play with real cards, so I've decided to play the Online version.
My favorite pokemon are Grass types, so i made a Celebi EX/Venusaur deck and i want to get from you guys any possible help how can i improve this deck:

Venusaur/Celebi Deck:

  • 3 Shaymin
Trainers/Supporters/Stadium: 31
  • 4 Professor Juniper
  • 4 Rescue Scarf

  • 3 Hooligans Jim & Cas
  • 3 Ultra Ball
  • 3 Rocky Helmet
  • 3 Pokemon Cather
  • 2 Tool Scrapper
  • 2 Super Rod
Energy: 15
  • 15 Grass

Strategy
EDIT: So... Building this deck, i thought about using Shaymin to pull out Bulbasaur using Call for Family, Celebi is here for his ability Time Recall to use Ivysaur Poison Powder.
Hooligans Jim & Cas are here, to help me with annoying card on my opponents hand.
I have putted Rescue Scarf in this deck, to help me "save" Celebi EX or maybe Venusaur .
So, i think that should be it for writing about a "strategy", I know that it isn't very professional but it's hard to write something when i'm not so good at it.

I dont think Ivysaur's poison powder is good to use over Venusaur's. Seems like a wasted risk to put in celebi for a easy 2 prizes. It doesnt do anything nearly as good as it could be used for something like flygon or charizard.

Seems like with Venusaur's ability, you want to tech in a bunch of different pokemon to help against its bad matchups, which is probably everything. So probably start by taking out the Celebi, and possibly shaymin. I understand why you would want to have it in there for call for family. But this deck just doesnt have any attackers in it. Add in a bunch of big basics that your energy can support. Stuff like mewtwo, virizion, genesect, ect. In fact the deck's energy doesnt even have to be grass. ideally you never want to be attacking with Venusaur, just because its so bad. It should support more than anything else.
