Charizard and SP?

With the new forum change I am a little confused as where to put this so Ill put it here. I was thinking about Charizard with Infernape 4 and Blaziken FB. That way there is still the added damage with charizard plus the whole SP engine including power spray. I have not tested it out and have no Idea if it will even work but it may be an option over using ninetales and typhlosion.

From my testing I would stick with ninetails but dump typh for infernape 4 because then you would have another backup attacker + infernape power adds some disruption potentially getting easier kos.

I think Ill keep Ninetales in, and still have Infernape and Blaziken, then there is the SP engine and Ninetales, plus I need the Blaziken for power spray to work, so it can't just be Infernape.

Since you are running SP engine and have power sprays and such, would you be able to get Charizard as a stage 2 out fast enough? (You are talking about Charizard from AR and not the SP one right?)

But yeah, that would be my concern. Getting Charizard out fast enough when the T/S/S you are running are mainly for SP.

If you were to try running SP in a Charizard, Infernape 4 would be a much better option than Blaziken, because Charizard can't abuse Blaziken's body by burning stuff and Infernape has a very disruptive power.

You use blaziken for the Luring Flame attack, not for the X. Blaziken FB is a one counter to vileplume.

^One question, how you would get around Charizard's nasty three retreat cost, just to try and send up a Blaziken FB active under a trainer lock?

warp energy solves that problem, although I really think that charizard doesnt need SP.

I was just trying to make charizard not so relient on ninetales because I never have enough energy with it, so I thought what about SP, and I have both blaziken and infernape, I am going to try it out at league tonight and if it is worth it then Ill make a deck in the forum, otherwise Ill just leave it at this.

Then just add more energy, or more interviewers. or even cyrus. but yeah, she shiny vulpix can help with energies too if you start with it.

If you are going to run that many SPs, why not just run an SP deck? Straight SP just seems more consistant than SP with a stage 2 and a stage 1.

ninetales is the only thing that makes charizard a semi-viable deck, that's why it has so much reliance on it. splicing a bad sp engine into it isn't going to help things. james hits the nail on the head.

I do think Charizard will become more of a viable deck with a Rising Rivals-On format than right now since we won't have to deal with SP's running amuck.
