If I have Fossil Omanyte in play, and say I have Deoxys Poochyena as my Active Pokemon and I use Surprise, do I just pick whatever I want since my opponent has to play with his hand face up? Or do I still not get to look because the Surprise explicitly states that I choose without looking?

Obviously this has no relevance at all since it's super duper Unlimited, but my friend brought it up and it's an interesting question.

well kinda hard to figure out but the poochy says pick acard without loking so your opponet can quickly shufle up their hand and you pick at random then after words your opp has to show thier hand cuz of clairvoyence so clair goes away for the time you use suprise does that answer your ??? also the reason why they discount sets is becuase if this stuff cuz this would probably confuse the crap out of pui lol but that looks like a pretty sneaky combo congrats on that

Please take the time to use proper English with your posts. Check this out for more information on why it is important. ~DRK176

Well i am not 100% sure of this but i think that the effect of the attack is there.I think that have to just pick without looking.

You still must choose the card without looking, because even tough your oppponent is showing his hand, you still can close your eyes and choose the card. And also because Poochyena does not say "without looking at your opponent's hand".

When doing Surprise, saying "Choose 1 card from your opponent's hand without looking at your opponent's hand" is redundant. It's already stated that you look at your opponent's hand when doing the attack.

And I mean without looking as in your opponent picks up his hand, shuffles it if he wants, then you pick a card, then after that, his hand is shown again.

I would assume, since Poochayana says "without looking", your opponent would just shuffle his or her hand, you'd pick the card, and then they'd show the hand again. HOWEVER, with Poochyana's attack, you would see the card anyway, but that's my 2 cents.

Being able to see the card before you pick it is a pretty big deal.

Your opponent gets to pick the cards up, rearrange them, you pick one at random and the opponents hand is returned on the table so you can see the cards.

Same with Mew EX HP's Power. Even if you know what is in your opponents hand at any given time, you still have to choose the card at random.

Sorry to burst your bubble :p That's how it is.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Thanks.
