Help Clarification on Professor Kukui

If Professor Kukui is played and an attack ends up doing zero damage, is 20 damage still dealt to the defending Pokemon?

One example of an attack doing zero damage here would be flipping all tails on an attack that reads "Flip 4 coins. This attack does 40 times the amount of heads flipped." Gotta love when that happens!

Also, does an "official" place exist that has the answers to this and other, similar rulings (Muscle Band, Giovanni's Scheme, etc.)?

I remember that the site had a "Ask a Professor" section for specifically this kind of thing, but I think that's gone and as far as I know there isn't an official site.

On to your actual question though, the answer is no. Since the attack dealt no damage to begin with, you can't add damage via Professor Kukui, Muscle Band, etc. This also applies to utility attacks (like Call For Family) because they don't have any base damage either.

An attack has to do "some" damage before an effect can add "more" damage to it. (Jan 31, 2008 PUI Rules Team)
