Holon Researcher says you may search your deck for a card with the holon mark on it. does that mean that I can serach for any card with it (such as trainers, enregys, or pokemon), or just pokemon. It has puzzeled me.
does this apply to holon adventurer when you discards a card?

No it doesn't:

Holon Researcher states you can search for a "Metal Energy" card, or a Pokémon with the Delta Species mark. You can't use Researcher and search for a Holon Mentor, or any other Trainer for that matter.

Regarding Holon Adventurer...

That also says you get the extra card if you discard a Pokémon bearing the Delta Species mark. Not a Trainer.

Adventurer - No, it's a Trainer.

Lake - No, it's a Trainer.

Research Tower - No, it's a Trainer.

Ruins - No, it's a Trainer.

Castform - No; while it is a Pokémon, it doesn't bear the Delta Species mark, so it is not able to be searched for with Holon Researcher.

That's not what Researcher is asking for.

That's like asking this question:

== APRICORN MAKER (Skyridge)

Q. Can Apricorn Maker be used to search for the Trainer "Balloon Berry"? Taking the card literally, *BALL*oon Berry contains the exact same "Ball" as given on Apricorn Maker.
A. Of course not, don't be silly! You can only search for cards like Poké Ball, Fast Ball, Master Ball, etc. Nice try, slick... (Nov 13, 2003 PUI Rules Team)

Saying you can search for various Trainers and Camerupt because they literally have "δ on its card" is not Holon Researcher's intent.

Abhorsen can correct me if I'm wrong, he knows everything.

m0nster1nc, please try and not be so smart about it. I'd quote the Compendium's witty remark above again but it has already made its point. The Pokemon must have the δ symbol in its NAME. Yes it does say 'on the card' but it is referencing the name of the pokemon. If it doesn't have the δ symbol in the name of the Pokemon then too bad.

But Abhorsen, Balloon Berry DOES have "Ball" in its name!

Alright, alright. I'm done playing around. I just had to do that.
