Sorry for the little joke earlier guys, I seriously couldn't resist Dx
Here is the actual Chapter 1 (not all characters have appeared yet, and I didn't want to make this too long):
Chapter 1
He was finally here. After over 10 hours of traveling by sea, he was finally at the train station that would take him to his destiny. Memories of his many past explorations and companions flew through his mind, and nostalgia took over his mind for a few minutes.
Being here didn’t bring him only good memories, though. This conference on Delta Species Pokémon he was going to attend reminded him of how he didn’t lead the first expedition to Holon, the home region of these particular species. It reminded him of all those
years spent doing research and travelling, all leading to the discovery of Delta Species by someone else, someone who clearly hadn’t even done any research on the Delta Species, someone who lead the expedition only because he had good contacts.
But he had a plan. At the conference, he would show everyone his research and expose the unworthy ‘discoverer’ of Delta Species. And afterwards…he would look for the Vileplume who caused all of his problems.
‘All because of that stupid flower,’ he thought. ‘If that Vileplume hadn’t poisoned me, I would be already in the conference, and I’d be probably practicing my speech.’
Truth is, after all these years, Empoleon still hates Vileplume for poisoning him before the expedition, which caused him to be unable to lead it and therefore he wasn’t given any credit for the discovery of Delta Species.
However, Vileplume didn’t poison him on purpose. Empoleon went to see her to get vaccinated against Pokérus, a disease whose effects were mostly unknown at that time, but she warned him that there was a high chance of the vaccine having undesirable side effects because he was a Water type. Nevertheless, the proud Pokémon decided to get the vaccine anyway, and his pride costed him the official discovery of Delta Species. Of course, he would never see it that way, so he is waiting for the day he can have his revenge.
On his way to the train, he crossed a Meowstic who seemed to be in a hurry, a waiter in a train.
“Hey! Yes, you, the cat. Which train is the one going to the Delta Species conference? It’s supposed to leave in about 15 minutes.”
“Um, uh, hi, sir,” the Mewostic timidly replied. “The train number 16, if my memory doesn’t fail me. I think you should, uh, hurry up. Just like me, I have to give a report to the boss.”
With these words, Mewostic ran off and went into the train with the number 16. And so Empoleon, without the slightest doubt, entered the train and took a seat.
Ugh, where did the train go this time? Is it really that hard to always stop at the same stop? There’s no need to change it every time... thinks Seir the Houndoom, a porter who has worked in the same train for several years. The problem he always had with it, though, is that the train’s driver always stops at a different stop for some reason.
Suddenly, a familiar voice brought him back to Earth.
“Seir, is that you?”
“Tails? Dude, it’s been a while! How’re you doing?”
Tails was said train’s driver, an adamant Electivire Seir had worked with for many years now.
“Good, man, real good. Why are you here?”
“Well, I’m obviously looking for your train, which you obviously didn’t stop at the same stop as last time.”
“Yeah, sorry about that. I just can’t help it, it feels weird if I don’t do that. Anyways, the train’s this way.”
And so Electivire guided his co-worker to the train, and made him sit next to an Empoleon and a very angry-looking Togepi.
“Now you just wait here. One of the employees has to give me a report of a certain situation, I’ll be right back.”
And so Electivire left and waited for Mewostic to report the results of the mission he had been given.
“Say, Egg, would you do me a favor?” asked Seir.
“Who are you calling Egg, you fire-breathing abomination?”
“Chill out, man, it was just a question. Will you or will you not?”
“If the favor is killing you, I’d be glad. Otherwise, mind your own business. I-”
“Dude, you owe me a favor. One that doesn’t involve killing me. Or any killing, really. See Lil, that Lilligant over there?”
“The flower with the cupcakes?”
“Yes. I want you to go and ask her for some, and bring them to me.”
“Why would I listen to you? You’ve done nothing for me.”
“Nothing that you know, that is. Now go and get me those cupcakes.”
Not far from there, was a Gallade named Aquamarine. He was reading a book, sitting right next to a door. Upon turning a page, he dropped a letter.
‘Dear Aquamarine,
You don’t know me, and I don’t know you. But I believe I have some information about your lost love…Amber. If you want to know what happened to her, meet me in train number 16, the one going to the Delta Species conference.
Vileplume’
Every time he read the letter, his heart hurt a bit. It was long ago, fact, but he hadn’t yet completely recovered from finding Amber’s – his Amber’s- house burnt down, and all of her family- no. Whenever he remembered the scene…he couldn’t afford to weaken now. Not now, that he is so close to finally finding out what happened.
Because he would figure out what happened, no matter the cost…
“I’m sorry, boss, but I’m afraid your journal has been, uh, damaged.”
“What do you mean?”
“I found it…burning to ashes.”
“WHAT?!?!?!?!? That rotten, obnoxious, filthy, diseased plant! How dare that pestilent flower!” Electivire screamed loudly, alerting the whole train of the presence of Vileplume.
The same Vileplume that had poisoned Empoleon. And that had turned down Seir. And that was somehow involved with Togepi. And that ruined the lives of so many people. And, of course, that held the key to Amber’s whereabouts…
Death(s): No one! (yet!)
