Counters to Furious Fists

So hey guys! Furious Fists is just out, and I just wanted to talk about counters to Fighting-Type Pokemon since we know that Fighting decks are going to be HUGE in this format! Here's what I think.

Counter to Landorus EX decks: The biggest opponent for Landorus EX decks are Empoleon/Seismitoad. Landorus is weak to Water, and Seismitoad acts like a staller, since Tropical Beach is going to be rotated out.

Seismitoad T1: DCE + Muscle Band = 50 Damage + Weakness = 100 damage!

Some Enhanced Hammers could be added to Empoleon decks, since Strong Energy is going to be a pain. I think that another Exeggcute will be added to Empoleon decks because Level Balls are going to be rotated out next format. Now maybe Great Balls will be added to this deck just because the lack of the "balls" this deck has. Maybe Mewtwos as well to counter Lucario EX and other Psychic-Weak Pokemon.


Counter to Lucario EX/other Psychic-Weak decks: Mewtwo. Mewtwo and other things like VirGen is going to be the biggest counters yet. The next set, Phantom Forces, is going to have the best counters.

I'm really liking Virizion Mewtwo right now. It's a good deck by itself, but it also has really good match ups against all these hyped Furious Fists decks. Mewtwo does an insane amount of damage to Lucario while Virizion laughs at Seismitoad as it maxes out as 30 damage while Virizion can almost one shot it with Muscle Band and Laser. Of course even if I'm Item locked, I can still two shot Seismitoad. And if everyone starts playing Mewtwo as a tech in just about everything like they were doing when Mewtwo was first released, I can win the Mewtwo wars so easily because I play plenty of DCE, Muscle Band, Energy Switch, and Lasers. I have not lost a Mewtwo war yet.
 
Toxicroak (revenge) against Lucario EX. (my favorite underrated card) Beartic (furious fists) seems to be used mainly as a Pyroar counter in decks that need it, but with a muscle band and DCE, it can take out Lando. There's also Suicune and Sigilyph (both have safeguard and type advantage)
 
Siesmitoad/Garbodor destroys Landy EX and friends. Lucario is destroyed by Mewtwo EX which is a card that any deck with energy and DCE could use effectively. Toxicroak is actually good now that it can 1HKO(IIRC) a major card.
 
The only thing is with phantom forces, the good cards are going to be bad against themselves as cards like Gengar are weak to psychic and phantom could add some good techs against Mewtwo and other psychic cards

Gengar-EX is weak to darkness, not psychic.
 
Another one is Golurk PLB. For a DCE, you do 60, but you can't be playing any team plasma pokemon. Slap on a bangle and viola.

Pojo mentioned that Enhanced Hammer has already been reprinted in japan as a promo, so if it DOES get rotated out it probably won't stay rotated for very long.
