Crobat / Dusknoir

Just looking for some opinions on my Batman deck (Crobat is a bat and DuskNOIR, noir is the detective genre)

POKEMON - 14
  • 4 Crobat (PS 55)
  • 4 Zubat (PS 53)
  • 2 Dusknoir (BC 63)
  • 2 Duskull (BC 61)
  • 1 Golbat (PS 54)
  • 1 Dusclops (BC 62)
TRAINERS - 34
  • 4 Rare Candy
  • 2 Exp Share
  • 3 Bicycle
  • 3 Virbank City Gym
  • 3 Skyla
  • 2 Float Stone
  • 2 Professor Juniper
  • 4 N
  • 1 Master Ball
  • 3 Pokemon Catcher
  • 2 Enhanced Hammer
  • 1 Tool Scrapper
  • 3 Ultra Ball
ENERGY - 12
  • 4 Double Colorless Energy
  • 8 Psychic Energy

The strategy is to get the Crobats up and going, using Night Sight(their ability) as the draw mechanic and using Ultra Toxic Fang for big damage forcing them to choose between keeping that Pokemon up to attack then get knocked out between turns or switch it out and promote another Pokemon. You keep repeating this cycle while setting up a Dusknoir and more Crobats just in case the active one gets prized. DON'T FORGET TO USE NIGHT SIGHT, IT IS WHAT MAKES THIS DECK ACTUALLY WORK. Once you have enough damage on the bench that's where this deck shines. Use Dusknoir to KO any Pokemon they have at almost any time. There are a few things I'm considering switching out like Silver Bangles instead of Exp Shares and Dowsing Machine instead of Master Ball. Most people don't like Master Ball but I really like having it, you can really pull some cool stuff off with it.

TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK!

heres a link to the list: http://www2.bebessearch.com/Pokedex/DecklistShare.aspx?id=488091004&key=295342710

Edited your decklist to coincide with the rules! Also, remember to post a strategy so it can be apparent to those who don't understand. Thanks! ~Kecleon
Thank you for the help! - PegFear

RE: Crobat/Dusknoir

This list is probably pre plasma blast.

Exp shares arent really needed, compared to the need of tool scrappers. You might want to drop the exp share, enhanced hammers, and maybe 1 or 2 plasma balls. You probably need 2 to 3 tool scrappers since crobat is your only attacker. if they have silver mirror, crobat wont be doing anything. With only 2 enhanced hammers, its probably not going to help that much, especially with nothing to benefit from discarding special energy, something like drifblim. 3 plasma balls might be too much. I only run 2 level ball and 2 ultra ball in my beedrill deck, and thats really enough. You could probably just use like 2 level, 1 ultra, 1 plasma. Or something like that. You dont need to get everything out at once for your deck to work, and only having masterball to grab dusknoir seems you would have a hard time searching for it. I would even go as far as saying 2 level 2 ultra might be better. Master ball also seems like a waste of an Ace Spec. but thats just me. I would rather have dowsing machine to reuse rare candy since you do have a total of 7 2 step pokemon in your deck with only 4 rare candy. Having that 5th could really help you.

To be completely honest, i dont know why you need dusknoir at all. If crobat is doing its job, it should really cause a knock out as soon as it hits your turn again. 40 damage + 60 between turns is pretty powerful. If you add in bangles to this deck, you could be hitting for 70 + 60 between turns. So if they cant switch out, most if not all ex pokemon will be knocked out on the turn coming back to you, so you can attack a fresh pokemon. The only way dusknoir would be helpful is if they switch on their turn, to get away from the poison. Then you can move damage around and knock stuff out.

You may want to also consider mewtwo for this deck. It could be your only way out against a dragonite/garbodor deck with silver mirror in play. You also need something to use against virizion decks since they are immune to poison. You also already have the DCE in the deck so why not?

Something like
4-1-4 Crobat
2-2 Dusknoir
2 Mewtwo
1 Lunatone (For premonition)

RE: Crobat/Dusknoir

It's not pre-Plasma Blast
Dusknoir is there to finish off bench pokemon, because most of the time they are going to retreat there poisoned pokemon so it doesn't get KO'd. I do think thinning his line is a good idea just because I mostly use him as a finisher and don't get him out until later in the game. Master Ball isn't there just for Dusknoir, it's there for the extra ball to get things out faster, it's probably my favorite ace spec. I think Mewtwo EX would just take away from the strategy and weigh down the deck when I don't need to use him. I did away completely with the other balls and added 3 ultra balls. Silver Bangle might be okay. This deck isn't made to win every match up. It's just a fun deck to run for my first trip to regionals! :D
