Rogue decks are cool

So, first off let me just say i know this wont be the best deck in the world, but i want to use it none the less. So what i am wanting to use is Crobat.

So i was wondering what would be some good cards to play with him or should i just run straight crobat (maybe with some rescue scarf?) Also i was thinking maybe using 4 crushing hammer and 4 enhanced hammer? Let me know what you think! And i know Virbank's are vital for this deck to work.

RE: Crobat help!!!

My son Had some good success with an ether build. 4-0-4 Crobat, 2 Lunatone, 3 Mewtwo. The combo of Lunatones abuility and ether plus crobats card draw worked to speed up the deck.Doing this you would have no room for hammers though.

RE: Crobat help!!!

I prefer using EtherDex to using EtherLuna, because Luna is basicly a HUGE catcher bait, and PokéDex browses through 3 more cards

RE: Crobat help!!!

DCE, Virbank, and Amoonguss PLS are good in this deck. Amoonguss Let's you stall your opponent with Astonish while you set up multiple Crobats. This deck has so much space and so many options, it's not even funny. DCE, Blend GRPD, Grass, and Psychic Energy work well here. 1 Shaymin EX helps too. 1 HTL is a wise addition.

RE: Crobat help!!!

I remember I had a friend that ran HTL as the main component of the deck. There were 4 HTLs, 4-2-4 Crobat line, 3 Giratina Plasma Storm. It's Hex will do 100 damage after you HTLed something. It's also a decent thing to run because all it needs is a Psychic Energy and a DCE for an instant hundred damage which OHKOs Mewtwo EX w/ Eviolite or Giant Cape. Virbank is also a key addition too. However, running Amoonguss is too risky bc it doesn't have the same energy requirements and Blend Energy x4 would give this deck 61st card syndrome. EtherLuna does sound like a good gimmick to run but it could also contribute to 61st card syndrome as well.
Edit: might also want to run 3 or 4 DCE if you're planning on running Mewtwo EX.

RE: Crobat help!!!

No need for ether. Just use Colress Machine

RE: Crobat help!!!

Giratina isn't good. Just run the others and there is a lot of space. It works quite well, actually.

Why not? 100 damage is enough to 2HKO nearly anything in the meta besides Klinklangs and Darkrais. They can also be huge early game pressure with 130 HP. If you slap a DCE and a Psychic energy after an HTL you'll be able to hit for 100 damage in as little as 2 turns, which is pretty speedy in this format. The Scolipede line isn't needed if Crobat is in here, though, it just takes up space.

I am currently playing Crobat as my main deck and have had a surprisingly good run with it.

Pokemon:

3 Zubat (With free flight... Duh!)
3 Crobat
1 Roselia
1 Roserade
2 Trubbish (any will do)
2 Garbodor (with garbotoxin)
2 Mewtwo EX

When I first started playing this deck, I was very much aware that the biggest hurdle to the poison stratergy is currently the amount of free retreat or retreat like effects (thinking Rush In here). To mitigate that, Garbodor was an obvious inclusion. This meant that I had to make my deck as immune to Garbotoxin as possible.

I did originally have a couple of Venipede and Whirlipede in the deck, but I took them out. They were far to expensive in terms of the resources spent to get them attacking or retreating them if they got pulled out into the Active position.

Roserade is amazing. When played right, this card has just straight up won me the game.

The 2 Mewtwo are here for pretty obvious reasons. I needed something that could be a power hitter and Mewtwo fills that role. It's kind of like the backup plan incase Crobat isn't cutting it.

Supporters:
(Note that I am still tinkering with the Supporters in my deck, so by no means take this as a definative list)

3 Colress
3 Juniper
3 Skyla
2 N

I prefer Colress to Bianca and to N. Bianca makes me feel like I have to play out my hand to rapidly, I prefer a much more controlled playstyle. N gives my opponent a new hand... I wanted a happy median and I feel that Colress fills this role. Sure enough, early game his value is pretty dicey, but I think the rate at which his use increases through the game make it an acceptable trade off.

Juniper is still great. I shouldn't really have to say more.

Skyla is a cruical part of this deck, but in testing, I have found 3 to be a fine number. adding a 4th isn't a terrible idea, I just find room to be very tight in this deck.

N. Still a good card. I just prefer Colress. I always hate playing N when I know my opponent's hand is bad and I hate giving people outs.

Items/Stadiums:
(Again just like the Supporters, this changes about every time I play the deck... Also, I am not sure if the numbers on a couple of items is wrong...)

4 Catcher
4 Hypnotoxic Laser
3 Rare Candy
2 Level Ball
2 Virbank City Gym
3 Switch
2 Rescue Scarf
2 Giant Cape

Not a whole lot to really add here. I am assuming that you can see why my choices are the way they are.

Virbank is only a 2 of, because of the amount of play it is seeing in other decks. If it doesn't see a whole lot of play in your local meta, try 3.

Switch is a must if playing with Garbodor. I don't tend to attach energies to it, so I basically never will be able to pay the obscene retreat cost in any sort of timely fashion. Best to be able to ignore it.

Rescue Scarf is great on Garbodor. Or Crobat.

Giant Cape is the Crobat aid of choice for me. It makes Crobat that little harder to KO (Keldio needs 2 more energy, Darkrai now needs a plus power etc etc etc).

I'd add an Energy count, but I only currently run 12, 4 of which are DCE, so I will let you figure out the others :p

In a funny sort of way, this deck only really struggles with the mirror match, it basically comes down to who has the best draw. Garbodor helps you keep Darkrai and Keldeo in check and the Steel decks aren't really an issue as you generally aren't attacking with an EX.

I have found that Crobat can be a viable tournment deck, I myself went 3-1 at a tournament on Sunday (I missed top cut by only 2 points of resistance... :( ). You just need to have a fair idea of the expected metagame and test against it. Knowing the right line of plays against the big decks can make or break your day.

Hope my ramblings have helped,

Pope.

That a the build of whole new deck lol

I also played with a crobat deck but found out when they say the zubat, it was game over. So I didn't focus on the crobat. Kinda like making them think that's what I'm trying to set up while I'm doing something else.

So? They Catcher it, you retreat it for free. Or, if they were to Catcher-Kill, you are playing 2 down at a time, right?

SheNinja is right. The whole point of the deck is to take poison damage and use it to your advantage. Worrying about Zubat Being Catchered is useless if you are playing down 2 at a time. The best spread attacker in this format is probably Kyurem NVI, Which with 2 glaciates, can knock out multiple zubats. Kyurem however is rarely played. The only Damage you should worry about is Darkrai's Snipe.

^And Landorus

I personally think Tornadus is the better partner for Crobat. It gets the Blow Through Boost from Vibank, so it can donk. It tends to stay on the field longer. It's just a really good card in this format while Mewtwo is probably going to dead soon.

Two are being played, that's just my point, I let them take the zubats and I set up something else

Garbotoxin blocks Night Sight and Free Flight, so what's the point? It also blocks Roserade if you're playing the one I think you are, so...
