STRATEGY:

The deck focuses on a flash war tactic. Go first and start with Mew V and fill the bench with two Genesect V in addition to another Mew V. Attach to one of the two Mew V and end the turn. Next turn evolve Mew V into Mew Vmax and attack with Cross Fusion. The main attacks to use with Cross Fusion are Techno Blast, Melodious Echo and Psycho Jump in addition to Max Miracle. The items in this deck have been chosen to search out Pokémon and allow Genesect V to refill the hand with Fusion System. The only card that cannot be used immediately is Cross Switcher which acts as an additional Boss’s Orders and Switch card.

CARD SHARK:

In this section I will outline the rationale behind the card choices in the current list.

4-3 Mew Vmax: Mew V is an ideal starter in this deck due to the free retreat. He is also needed to evolve into Mew Vmax who constitutes the main attacker in this deck. Cross Fusion allows Mew Vmax to use Techno Blast at a lower cost which helps to stream attacks. Max Miracle is a decent shred attack that ignores effects on the defender and can be used to deal with Decidueye and Zamazenta V. Note that Cross Fusion can also copy Psycho Leap to return a heavily damaged Mew Vmax to the deck and Melodious Echo to reach higher numbers once you have four Fusion Energy cards in play.

4 Genesect V: The deck relies on Fusion System as the main draw engine. The idea is to have two to three Genesect V on the bench in addition to Mew Vmax to draw up to six cards per Genesect V. In addition to providing the draw engine of this deck Genesect V also lends his main attack to Mew Vmax to hit for a solid 210 damage. The deck runs a thick item line and most items can be played whenever they are drawn. The only cards that one might want to conserve are Cross Switcher and Power Tablet.

1 Meloetta: Melodious Echo allows Mew Vmax to hit for 210 damage without having to switch out next turn once there are three Fusion Energy cards attached to your Pokémon. With four Fusion Energy cards in play it can even knock out Pokémon Vmax in one hit with Power Tablet.

3 Marnie: This card provides supplemental draw supporter and disruption at the same time. Marnie also combos well with Elesa's Sparkle and Cross Switcher since it can return cards in hand back to the deck to be used later. In addition Marnie also combos well with Old Cemetery similar to the classic Marnie Path to the Peak combo.

2 Elesa’s Sparkle: The main reason for this card is to accelerate Fusion Energy. Despite the low count it is not that hard to access Elesa's Sparkle due to Fusion System. Compared to Raihan Elesa's Sparkle seemed to be more proactive which blends well with the flash war tactic of this deck.

3 Boss's Orders: Unconditional gust effects win games. The control Boss's Orders provides is important the deck wants to knock out three Pokémon V in one hit on consecutive turns. Combined with Cross Switcher and Escape Rope the three copies of Boss's Order provide a stable amount of gust and control.

4-4-3 Quick Ball, Fog Crystal, and Ultra Ball: Pokémon search items are indispensable in a deck that aims to set up on the first turn. Quick Ball and Ultra Ball can be used to search for Genesect V. While the former one can also search for any other Basic Pokémon in this deck the latter one also searches out Mew Vmax. The required discard of both item cards works well in this deck since it thins the hand which enables Fusion System to dig deeper into the deck. The third ball card is Fog Crystal which can search for any Basic Psychic Pokémon or a Basic Psychic Energy. With six Basic Psychic Pokémon and four Basic Psychic Energy cards there are sufficient targets to be searched out in this deck.

4-3 Rotom Phone and PokéGear 3.0: Both cards are intended to enable the deck to search out key control cards such as Boss's Orders or Cross Switcher in addition to other stuff. Since Rotom Phone is more versatile I decided to run a maximum count of Rotom Phone and three PokéGear 3.0 to counteract the slow supporter which allows Fusion System to be optimally used.

4 Cross Switcher: As mentioned above gust effects win games. Cross Switcher acts as the third and fourth Boss's Orders and also provides a decent switch option to stream attacks with Techno Blast. When you play two copies of this card they act like Guzma in that they switch your active Pokémon with a Pokémon on your bench and allow you to switch an opponent's benched Pokémon with their current active Pokémon.

4 Power Tablet: Power Tablet enables Mew Vmax to knock out Pokémon V in one hit. Note that multiple Power Tablets can be combined in one turn to enable Mew Vmax to knock out Pokémon Vmax.

2 Switch: I used to run Escape Rope instead of Switch but since Fusion Strike want to attack the active Pokémon most of the time or choose a benched defender with Boss's Order or Cross Switcher Switch seemed to be more usefull than Escape Rope. The count of switch cards may seem low but two copies turned out to be sufficient combined with Cross Switcher and the free retreat on Mew Vmax and acceleration with Elesa's Sparkle.

2-2 Rose's Tower and Old Cemetery: Both cards in essence act as counters to Path to the Peak which shuts down Fusion System on Genesect V. You want to run a split of stadium cards to reduce the odds that the increased count of four stadium cards in total clunks up the hand and reduces the number of cards that can be drawn. In addition both stadiums have their unique benefits. Rose's Tower can be used to draw some additional cards prior to Fusion System while Old Cemetery is a pseudo Power Tablet that can help Mew Vmax to reach relevant numbers to knock out the defender in one hit.

4-4 Fusion Energy and Psychic Energy: The deck runs Fusion Energy because it can be accelerated from the deck with Elesa’s Sparkle to turn Mew Vmax into a one-attachment attacker. Capture Energy has been included to help the deck to set up fast while still fulfilling the energy cost of Cross Fusion. In addition the deck also runs four Basic Psychic Energy cards which can be searched out with Fog Crystal whenever needed.
