Ruling crushing hammer

searched, but did not see if anyone had alreay asked this question...

if you flip heads with the crushing hammer, can you choose to discard a double colorless. The card reads "an energy". does this strictly mean "one energy card" or just "one energy"?

Because it does not specify the card has to be a basic energy, you may discard special energy cards with it.~Mark

I think he was referring to the fact that a special energy card is two energy, rather than the fact that its a special energy card. The answer is yes, you can discard a double colorless energy.
