Strategy. Run Spiritomb as much as possible to evolve my pokemon. I chose mostly Support cards because trainers can't be used with Keystone Seal. Basic Gengar strategies... devolve level X's, hit bench, do max damage, no retreat cost. Azelf lvlX and Mesprit lvlX and Mismagius is a great combination. Azelf and Azelf X are very useful, look at prize cards and psychic aura. It also activates Mesprit X's Supreme Blast (200 DMG). I have to discard 2 energy cards if I use Supreme Blast but Mismagius' poke power allows me to move energy cards around. I could constantly attack with Supreme Blast as long as I have an energy in my hand and some on my benched pokemon. We all know Uxie is useful and elusive. That's about it...

Uhh, to use Supreme Blast, you have to have both the 3 lv.X in play, which you don t even have in your deck. Plus you have to put them on active and then retreat. 90 hp is not much.

Is it a Cursegar deck? Are you focusing on Swich back (cursegar) or to trainer lock (Vilegar)? I can t help if you don t have a staple strategy.

Yes, I have 2 Gengar Curse and 1 Gengar Faint Spell.

Oh damn, I thought I had to have Mesprit lvlx and Azelf lvlx for supreme blast... I overlooked Uxielvlx. Damnit. What would you recommend. I'd like a combination of switchback and trainer lock actually. What do you recommend I replace Mesprit with?

-1 Gengar Curse
+1 Gengar Poltergeist
When you are playing Bebe's and Cynthia's, it will be easy to get AR Gengar.
Mismagius makes sense, so does Gengar Lv.X, but I feel you should run a
2-2-2 Vileplume UD, to lock the trainers. Just me and my weird thinking.

Why would it be easy to get AR gengar but not SF ?

If I use a Gloom from Legends Awakened... I can evolve it into a Vileplume from Undaunted right? In other words, I can mix series, correct? Same thing with leveling up too I assume... I can put Gengar X on Gengar AR or Gengar SF.

Also... If I were to add 2-2-2 Vileplume - Who would you remove from my deck?

Yes, as long as the name is the same, it doesn't matter what set it is from, you can evolve or level it up.

dmaster out.

Can anyone answer this?

In my opinion, the pixies EXCEPT for Uxie X if you do the 2-2-2 line.
Q."How would it be easy to get Gengar AR but not SF?"
A. You are playing Pokemon Collector and Spiritomb, am I correct? And you are playing 3 Collector and 4 Spiritomb, correct? The Pokemon Collector will most definitely help with the Gastly, Spiritomb the Gastly(or Bebe's Search) and you have the Gengar. Even after that, you play two rare candy and a luxury ball. Unless you get a bad hand, it should be easy to get it in play and then quickly level-up with the Premier Ball(which you play 2 of).
Running the 2-2-2 line will help with SP, which I think is a threat to this deck. Nothing to lock sp. energies, so there are chances where this deck could sweep you.

@Yoshidude10
You did actually not answer the question. It was "why Gengar SF instead of Gengar AR?" but you answered how to get a gengar out. You did not explain the difference between those two.

Gengar AR is a very good card, but became really slow with the lose of claydol. Its attack needs 2 psychic and 1 normal, so no benefit of DCE. Compare to gengar, which takes one energy to take out uxie (with a crobat G), it is way better. Plus, with a T-2 or T-3 Vileplume in play, you are going to deal with 2 energies poltergeist more than 90 at least. With the level X, not scared of dialga G anymore. In the end, its fainting spell can make you take another prize with a coin flip. Gengar AR has lost its main cards too (moonlight stadium and Mr mime GE).

If you want to do a Vilegar deck, which is better, than change your decklist. Gengar AR can still be add as a tech to move damage counters.

Whoops... my bad. Don't think sometimes, was just thinking of it on the bench, I guess 2 Poltergeist could work. I just sometimes think that in a Vilegar deck, Poltergeist can't be the only strategy.

This is what I have. After all the advice from numerous people... I think this is the most solid.

For most people, if you ever play Rare Candy, you NEVER play only 1. I now get the Mismagius thing, 3 Seeker is really not needed. Oh, and one thing: If your opponent somehow happens to get Vileplume in play, you will not have a very good time, letting it sit in the active position space. Switch or Warp Point is highly recommended.

I am going to replace the rare candy with another BTS.

The 3 Seekers are very important to me... I need a way to get pokemon off the bench if my opponent is focused on doing bench damage. It is also a great way to surprise an opponent who only has 1 benched pokemon and knock out his active. I also want a way to get Spiritombs off the bench (after they have done their job its just wasted space.)

I already have 2 Warp and 2 Cyclone Energies.

Here is the deck with the Candy/BTS Switch.

Great job! It looks really nice! Oh, and just one question: What Midreavus are you playing from SF? I think there is more than one in SF and there may be a better one out there, like the Misdreavus with Take Back, search discard pile for Trainer(LUXURY BALL). Other than that, it looks good to me!

There is only 1 SF Misdreavus. The one with Take Back is from Platinum. I have no use for Take Back because of my trainer lock strategy.

yea man... nightmare feast is a great attack... I will obviously evolve him ASAP but if he is my only base pokemon I will be happy :)
