This is a fanfic about a guy named Damien, who is just starting out in the Hoenn region. What awaits for him here? Just wait and see!

Ya, a prologue to tell us what this is about. Two sentences won't help us...

Chapter 1

Chapter 1 - Special Delivery!

"Damien. Wake up, dear."
He opened his eyes. Light was pouring down from the window, envailing the room in a golden glow.
"Good morning, mum!"
His mum was sitting at the foot of his bed smiling.
"Damien, do you remember what day it is?"
Damien looked puzzled.
"Come on now, you can't have forgotten already? You've been excited about it for ages!"
Damien thought. As he thought, he swelled up with excitement.
"It's the first day of my adventure!"
"That's right dear!"
"Does this mean I get my pokemon?"
His mother's smile faded.
"I'm afraid that Professor Birch called last night and said that he wouldn't be able to catch a pokemon on such short notice."
"Oh....." Damien felt as if he had just been dropped down a pit.
"However, he did say he could have a pokemon egg delivered to our house."
Damien sat up.
"Really, mom?"
"Yes. The postman should come any time now to deliver it."
[/b]Ding-Dong[/b]
"That must be him now!"
Damien's mother went downstairs for a few moments.
Damien was bursting with happiness. He couldn't wait to see the egg.
"I wonder what pokemon it will be?," he thought.
"Maybe a charmander!."
As he thought, he imagined a charmander using flamethrower and producing a glorious red flame.
"Or maybe a pikachu!"
This time he imagined a small yellow pikachu sending bolts of electricity straight up into the air.
"Oh, its gonna be great!"[/b]
Damien's mother came back upstairs.
"Here it is!," she cried as she handed him a large white egg with a green patch on the top.
"Wow! I can't wait to get going on my adventure!"
"Are you sure you want to leave right now? After all, you'll have nothing to protect you until the egg hatches, and that could take a while."
"Don't worry, I'll be fine."
"Ok. If you're sure..."
"Positive!"
"Right then. Get ready and I'll meet you at the door."

A few minutes later they were standing at the front door, Damien with the egg in his hands.
"Good luck, Damien. I'm sure you'll be perfectly fine."
"Me too, mom."
All of a sudden she gave him a hug, that squeezed him. Tears ran down her face.
"I'm going to miss you," she cried.
"Mom.....I'll be fine. Don't worry about me. Plus you're almost crushing the egg!"
She sniffed.
"Ok. Sorry."
Damien smiled and set off out the door at a quick pace.
"If you get to Rusboro, say hi to your sister for me!" his mom yelled.
"I will!" he yelled back.
And as he walked away from Littleroot town, he wondered what adventures lay in-store for him.
There are you happy now? :D
Uggh. The ding-dong from the doorbell wasn't in bold. :(
If you want you can guess what pokemon will come out of the egg, but you'll find out soon so theres not much point.

Chapter 2- The Mischievous Treecko

As Damien travelled across the grassy patches of route 101, he saw what looked like a nice place to rest.
"It's perfect!" he said to himself.
He placed the egg gently next to a rock, then curled up and fell asleep.

When he awoke a treecko was standing next to him, inquisitively touching the egg.
"Hey! What are you doing?" Damien yelled.
Startled, the treecko ran off, taking the egg with him.
"Hey! Get back here with my egg!"
He chased the treecko through the trees and over slopes. Suddenly, the treecko stopped in the middle of a large clearing.
"There you are! Give me back my egg!"
Rage was building up inside him as he slowly made his way towards treecko. It began to rain heavily, drenching everything in sight.
Treecko, seeing the look of rage on Damien's face, chose to hide behind a boulder.
"Don't touch my treecko!"
Damien looked around.
"Who said that?"
"Over here."
A boy that looked around the age of thirteen, slowly walked over to Damien.
"The name is Carl. And you are?"
"My name is Damien. Your treecko stole my pokemon egg!"
"Is that what happened?"
Without turning his gaze away from Damien, he called;
"Treecko! Brake the egg!"
"WHAT?!" Damien cried. "But I-"
Before Damien could do anything, treecko lifted the egg up and threw it into the air.
Before it came down, treecko jumped into the air as well.
"Treecko!" he cried, as he slammed his tail straight down onto the egg, breaking it in two.
"ARE YOU CRAZY!!" Damien yelled with anger.
"Hmmph. You got what you deserved."
And with that, he walked away.
Damien ran over to the egg, to see how much damage had been one.
A small white pokemon, with a green head and two red horns, was lying on the ground, breathing heavily.
Damien smiled.
"Don't worry little guy. I'll protect you."
He picked it up and he ran towards the direction of Oldale town.

So wait...is his Pokémon some sort of new Pokémon, or am I forgetting someone?

Chapter 3- New Friends

Damien ran away from the perilous clouds of rain. Soon the rain had turned into a storm and he looked for any sign of shelter.
Soon the pokemon centre in Oldale town came into view.
"There it is! We're almost there!" he shouted above the noise of the storm. He was speaking to the pokemon laying limp in his arms. It's breathing sounded strange, almost wheezy.
"I hope you're all right," he said to the pokemon.
He ran into the pokemon centre as fast as his legs could carry him.
Completely drenched, he ran over to Nurse Joy.
"Please miss. My pokemon....it got hurt. A boy broke it's egg open early."
"Oh dear. We'll need to take it to the emergency room."
She turned to a rather large pink pokemon that was carrying an egg in its pouch.
"Chansey. Please take this pokemon to the emergency room right away."
"Chan-sey" it cried in response.
Without a word, chansey took the pokemon away from Damien and placed it gently on a stretcher. Then, it whisked the stretcher away through a pair of large wooden doors.
"I suggest that you stay in the waiting room." Nurse Joy said. "There are video phones that you can use if you like.
"Ok." Damien replied. "I think I'll call home."

A few minutes later Damien was on the phone to his mother and had just finished explaining what had happened to him.
"That sounds awful," his mother said. "Is the pokemon all right?"
"I don't know. Nurse Joy has taken it into the emergency room."
"Hmm. Maybe you should talk to Professor Birch about what you should do."
"Ok."
He dialled the number of Professor Birch's laboratory.
"Hello? Oh, hello Damien! How's the Ralts I sent you?"
"Oh, is that it's name?"
"Why yes it is!"
Prof. Birch looked at Damien through the video phone. "Why do you look so glum?"
Damien explained the story to him, remembering not to miss out any details.
"Hmmmm. I see." he said. "Well, if I know Nurse Joy, Ralts will be healthy in no time at all!"
"Really! Thanks Professor!"
And with that he hanged up the phone.
He looked around the pokemon centre, feeling slightly better. A boy about the same age as Damien was sitting on his own in a corner of the room, looking sad and lonely.
"Hi, I'm Damien. What's your name?"
"......Chris.."
"Ok. So why are you here Chris?"
"......A boy with a treecko attacked my mudkip......I thought I'd be fine because I had the type advatage but...."
"Uggh. How many people does that guy attack for no reason?" Damien thought to himself.
"Hey..um. I'm sure you're mudkip will be fine."
Chris looked up.
"You think so?"
"I know so."
Suddenly, the doors of the emergency room flew open.
"Good news!" Nurse Joy smiled. "Both of your pokemon will be just fine!"
"Really? Thank you Nurse Joy!" Chris was overjoyed.
Damien walked over to Ralts.
"Hey. Buddy."
Ralts sat up and smiled.
"Ralts" it said with a yawn.
Damien was puzzled.
"Nurse Joy. I don't understand. Why is Ralts smiling?" he asked. "I mean it just got hurt, but its happy."
Nurse Joy smiled.
"Ralts is an emotion pokemon," she answered. "If the people around it are happy then it will be happy. I'm sure you two will be great partners!"
"Partners...," Damien thought.
Damien smiled.
He picked Ralts up and headed towards the door. Suddenly, he turned around.
Chris was sitting down, playing games with his mudkip.
"Chris?" Damien said.
"Yeh.."
"Do you...maybe...wanna come with us?"
Chris looked up.
"Really?"
"Sure."
Together they walked towards the door, Damien with Ralts and Chris with Mudkip. And they had never been happier.
Anyone like it so far?

Waitaminute...Those aren't HORNS! They're like, ovular discs, or something. Anyway, good chapter. And yeah, this fic needs spacing. If you're gonna space you might as well space the previous chapters aswell.

Chapter 4 - Crybaby

"Chris?"
"Yeah?"
"You have the map. Tell me, how long is it going to take for us to get to Petalburg City?"
Chris and Damien had been walking across Route 102 for a long time. Mudkip had fallen asleep on Chris' shoulder, while Ralts was sitting on Damien's head, busy staring at the trees and bushes that were dotted around the landscape. Mudkip kept snoring loudly, but Chris paid no attention as he struggled to read the map.
"Ugggh! I can't make head nor tail of this!"
"Hey don't worry I'm sure that we'll be ther- OUCH!"
Ralts, who was getting bored at staring at the scenery, decided that the time had been right to yank at Damien's hair.
"Please don't do that Ralts," said Chris as he took Ralts down from his lap and put it in his arms.
"Ralts..." it said with a yawn, and it smiled, just before it fell asleep.
"I think Ralts likes you a lot Damien." Chris said.
"Huh? How can you tell?"
"Well, it smiles loads when you're there, that's for sure."
"Yeah, but it's really mischievous. I mean it did pull my hair!"
Chris laughed.
Suddenly, they heard sounds coming from the bushes by the edge of the path. A pokemon jumped out from the bush, with tears in it's eyes. It seemed to be running from something.
"Whoa! What's that?"
"Don't you know any Hoenn pokemon? That's an Azurill," Chris said knowledgeably.
"Hey, I haven't lived in Hoenn for very long, you know."
"It looks sad. I wonder what happened."
Before they could go near it, Azurill was already bouncing halfway down the pathway.
"Hey! Wait!"
They ran after Azurill, and eventually caught up with it, panting and out of breath.
"What...are....you....running.....from?" Damien asked in between breaths.
Their question was answered, as two wild poochyena came sprinting down the path at full speed.
"AZURILL!" it screamed as it bounced away as fast as it could.
"We'd better help it!" Damien cried.
"Yeh. You deal with the poochyena and I'll get Azurill.
With Ralts still sleeping in his arms, Damien said, "Ralts are you ready to battle?"
Ralts opened its eyes immediately.
"Ralts!" it cried in agreement.
"Good! Uhh.....use water gun?"
"Ralts?"
Chris ran back carrying Azurill in his arms.
"You idiot! Tell it to use confusion!"
"Oh, right. Ralts use confusion!"
As soon as the command was called, Ralts sent out a blast of psychic energy towards the two poochyena. The poochyena shook themselves, unhurt.
"I'll help. Go Mudkip!"
Mudkip jumped down from Chris' shoulder and positioned himself into a fighting stance.
"Use water gun!"
A burst of water erupted from Mudkip's mouth and soaked the poochyena with water. Drenched, the poochyena ran off yelping.
"Phew. They're gone."
Damien turned round to face Chris.
"Uh, Chris? Where's Azurill?"
Chris looked down at his empty arms.
"He's gone.."
They looked around the pathway and eventually sighted it bouncing away.
"Wait!"
The Azurill turned around to face them.
"Hey. It's all right", Damien said. "You don't need to run away now. The poochyena are gone."
The Azurill sniffed and began to cry.
Damien sighed. He reached into his backpack and took out a pokeball, which he placed gently on the ground.
"Here. You can come with us!" Damien said, smiling.
Azurill stopped crying. It bounced over and prodded the pokeball gently with its nose.
The pokeball opened, and a flash of red light appeared as Azurill went inside. The pokeball shook a few times and then became motionless.
Damien picked up the pokeball.
"I'm sure you won't be sad any more my friend." he whispered to the pokeball.
"Uh, Damien?"
"Yeah?"
"I think I know how to get to Petalburg."
"Really? How?"
Chris pointed and Damien looked in the direction of his finger. Beyond the path, they could see a majestic view of the city.
They laughed.
"Without Azurill, we may never have found it!"
"Well, let's get going!" yelled Damien, as they headed in the direction of Petaburg city.

Here goes-

Chapter 5- A "Relaxing" Day

"Ahh," Damien said with a sigh. "Petalburg sure is beautiful."
"Yeah, replied Chris. "So what are we gonna do today then?"
They were sitting in a room with a bunk bed inside in the pokemon centre. It was a place that trainers could rest overnight if they wished.
Chris was sitting on the top bunk while Damien was on the bottom.
"I was thinking that we should just try and take it easy for today, you know. I mean after that incident with Azurill, I just feel really tired."
"I know what you mean."
The door opened. Nurse Joy was standing in the doorway, smiling.
"Your pokemon are fully healed. I hope you are enjoying your stay at the pokemon centre."
"Thanks, Nurse Joy."
Damien walked over and picked up the three pokeballs. He tossed one up to Damien.
Nurse Joy left the room.
"Hey, Damien. How about we let them out for a little fresh air?" Chris asked.
"Good idea."
Damien threw the pokeballs up into the air, and with a flash of white light, Ralts and Azurill appeared.
"Ra-alts" it yawned. Azurill bounced up into Damien's arms.
"Azu!" it cried.
Chris let out Mudkip from its pokeball and yawned.
"I dont think that anything could spoil today!"

Meanwhile in a small room in the pokemon centre;
"Oakley. Hurry it up, would ya? I have a pedicure at five."
"I'm going as fast as I can Annie! Shouldn't you be helping?" Oakley asked frustrated.
"I'd love to help. Really I would, but I just don't want to break a nail," Annie replied staring down at her hands.
Annie and Oakley were team rocket members, currently on an assignment for Giovanni. They had just started out, so Giovanni decided to give them an easy assignment, to prove how valuable they were. Ever since they had met, Oakley had regretted ever being partnered with Annie.
"I'm almost done putting the pokeballs into the bag. I just need to-"
"What are you two doing!"
Nurse Joy had just walked into the room, on her way to retrieve a pokemon for a trainer.
"Uh oh. Looks like were caught." Annie said with a sigh.
"Not yet, we're not." She stared at nurse joy. "If you want these pokeballs back your gonna have to fight us for them."
Nurse Joy smiled.
"If it means saving the pokemon, then I accept."
Oakley reached into her pocket and brought out a pokeball. So did Annie.
"I don't mind if its two against one," said Nurse Joy, also bringing out a pokeball. "I have confidence in my pokemon."
"Go, Spinarak!" called Oakley.
"You too, Eevee!" Annie called.
Nurse Joy smiled.
"Go Chansey!" she yelled.
"Oh dear." said Annie.
"Chansey, use Body Slam!" called Nurse Joy.
Spinarak tried to escape, but it was too late. He was flattened.
"Eevee use Tail whip!"
Eevee ran over to Chansey and repeatedly hit it using its tail. It seemed unaffected.
"Chansey, use Body Slam again!"
"Chan-Sey!" it cried as it squashed Eevee flat.
"Eevee, my darling!"
Oakley grimaced at Nurse Joy, enraged.
"Quickly, Annie! Let's just take the pokeballs and leave."
Annie picked up Eevee.
"I'm right behind you Oakley!"
They ran past Nurse Joy and out of the Pokemon Centre.
"Wait! Come back!" Nurse Joy called.

"What was that?"
Damien and Chris had been relaxing in their room, when they had heard shouting coming from somewhere inside the pokemon centre.
"We better go see what's going on."

They arrived in the pokemon centre's reception area, and saw a very distressed looking Nurse Joy.
"Nurse Joy! What's going on?" asked Damien.
Nurse Joy looked up.
"Oh, it's terrible!" she cried. "Two criminals have ran off with a bag of pokeballs."
Chris tapped Damien on the shoulder.
"What is it, Chris?"
"Damien, we have to do something to help. We are pokemon trainers after all."
Damien thought about it.
"Yeah. You're right." He turned to Nurse Joy. "Which way did they go?"
She pointed out towards the forest.
"They went over in that direction. Hurry, please save the pokemon!"

Five minutes later they had stumbled across a cabin in the woods.
"They must be inside." Damien said.
