Dark Explorers [Darkrai + Zoroark Deck Idea]

Zoroark is one of my favorite Pokemon and I've always wanted to make a deck centered around him. As soon as I saw Dark Rush, I immediately wanted to make a meta (or semi-meta) deck of him involving other dark types. Note that this is honestly a rough draft and it's subject to change upon suggestions and my own thoughts that may come into play later.

This is what I've come up with so far, though I know it probably needs a loooot of changes, such as better trainer acceleration:

POKEMON: [ 15 ]
x4 Zorua (4 DX)
x4 Zoroark (3 DX/1 BW)
x2 Sneasal (UN)
x2 Weavile (UN)
x2 Darkrai EX
x1 Mewtwo EX

ENERGY: [ 14 ]
x8 Darkness
x4 Special Darkness
x2 Double Colorless

TRAINERS: [ 31 ]
x1 Super Rod
x2 Juniper
x2 Lost Remover
x2 Pokemon Catcher
x3 Dark Patch
x3 Random Reciever
x3 Pluspower
x3 Professor Oak
x4 Pokemon Collector
x4 Darkness Claw
x4 Junk Arm

I hear this "Dark Toolbox" deck is tier 1 in Japan, even beating CMT? This suprises me since CMT attacks t1 if it's set up correctly. Even with Zorua's Ascension, Zoroark is still attacking t2, which is one turn later than CMT. The only thing's I see that could possibly be an advantage over that deck is the minimal resistance against Mewtwo, and 160-180 t2 with the right setup, therefore, one-shotting EX's.

Constructive criticism is welcomed :) Trying to make this deck work!

try
- 1 Mewtwo EX
- 4 Special Dark
- 1 Darkrai EX
- 3 Plus Power
- 4 Pokemon Collector
- 4 Junk Arm
- 1 Darkness Claw
- 1 Professor Oaks

+ 2 Sneasel (ud)
+ 1 Weavile (ud)
+ 1 Dark Energy
+ 2 DCE
+ 4 Ultra Ball
+ 4 Dual Ball
+ 3 level Ball
+ 2 Professor Juniper

this should make the deck work faster and keep dark pokemon flowing

^I disageee with no Junk Arms.

I do think I'd take 1 Random Reciever for an actual Supporter. And I'm not sure if I'd play Weavile. The disruption is nice, but the main focus is attacking with Zoroark. I could certainly see it working, but know that with only 2-2, it'll be hard to get it out T2, which is when it is most useful during your opponent's set up. And with no Seeker or SSU, it just sits on your Bench the rest of the game.

Same..no junk arms would be awful.

That's true. The 2-2 is a bit slow, and I'm still trying to squeeze in more search trainer/supporters. I was thinking of only keeping Weavile there temporarily. If he discarded 2-3 cards, it would be a lot better :/

I just don't know what other pokemon to put in there to replace him. For Zoroark's 'Brutal Bash' to work I need another dark type..

Okay just a few ideas here, the weavile/zoroark deck combo is a different form of dark toolbox, that shifts through and is meant to control your opponent's hand. How ever the version i see here is one similar to the one i used to run that was based around dishing out any where from 120~180 damage on turn 2 depending on the situation...any way, the deck's main focus is around zoroark how ever i'd pitch in 2 Darkrai-EX, instead of weavile, i run Absol Prime, and the new Sableye, Absol prime with dark patch and a switch = a turn 1 70~100 pending on if you grab a dark claw, and a special dark energy, i'd run only 2 special dark energy, though 4 could work, keep 2 DCE, and run mostly basic dark to run those patches, i play tested dark tool box, against my friend's CMT deck, that made it in the top 5 in two states in a row, and beat it 3 times with this deck. it's main power comes from its sheer consistency.
