Ruling Darkrai - Dark Slumber

At the end of your opponent's next turn, the Defending Pokemon is now Asleep.

1) If my opponent used this attack on my Luxray, and during my next turn I switch him out for another Pokemon, I attack with the new Pokemon, but it doesn't knock Darkrai out, is my new current Defending Pokemon Asleep?

2) Same as above but instead I do knock out Darkrai.

In both cases, Luxray is the target of the effect. When you move Luxray to the bench, the effect(or would be effect) of Dark Slumber is removed. Dark Slumber would not re-target it's effect on your new active Pokemon.
