Day 2 of Next Season's Fall Regionals to Feature Extended BW-On Format [7/2]

I'm not sure if I'm happy with a format switch mid-tournament. I feel players should be able to decide whether they would like to compete in one format or the other and not mold the two together.

Tropical Beach just went up in price again.

More opinions upon edit. I really just wanted the first post.

EDIT: Furthermore, it'll be interesting to see classics like Eelektrik (of course) and Klinklang back in the mix of things. I wonder how expensive these tournaments are going to run with a two-day tournament, and how the rules will be adjusted to fit the changes. Appealing to younger players might be tough also, because they may not have access to the older cards. Maybe a new set will be released including some of the older cards? Or a new promotional box with leftover Black and White packs?

I like the idea of an extended format, just not fond with how they're implementing it. I feel two-day tournaments where one is played one day and the other played the next would be far more reasonable. I don't see an official press release for it yet, so I'll stay optimistic about this change.

I am very excited about this! I think it can really shape-up and shake-up the Pokemon tcg and promote a lot more new ideas.

Not sure how I feel about this...
I mean, I know it is supposed to show how versatile a person can be with a range of cards, but I think they should be 2 separate tournaments.
It's not a terrible idea though. I just don't like the fact that after a stellar perfomance in day 1 for example could change by a sudden change of decks (I'd assume most people would change) in day 2. It is interesting, especially if you messed up a card, you could change it out.
This would also make deck checks for larger-scale tournaments for Top Cut much easier.

This sounds pretty fun but this news will piss off some people because some people might have already sold their tropical beaches thinking that it would rotate out of format in fall.

Play! made a statement last year at the rotation that there would be an "extended format" and more details would be coming.
They warned everyone not to get rid of the BW, EP, and NV cards.
Almost everyone I asked, in Indy, was undecided on how they felt about the format, mostly because no one knows what will get cut in August. However, the 2 biggest issues players have:

1. They don't have BW, EP, NV cards. They didn't get rid of them at the rotation, they started after. Will Nintendo do another print run of these sets so newer players can have access the them?
2. Two days, Two decks, too much testing. You can have the best day 2 deck ever but if you don't have the modified deck to get you there on day 1 you will never have the chance to use it.

I thought there would be separate, optional, sanctioned tournament on the second day during top cut.

I thought this was going to be a side format for people that were either eliminated from the main tournament Day 1 and still wanted to play in something and have the opportunity to get some points or whatever...? Forcing this upon everybody and then still having people who don't have a chance on Day 2 not really get anything extra is pretty lame, not gonna lie.

dmaster out.

Not a fan. There's gonna be that one guy who gets a god hand and goes Landorus ex with special fighting, mucle band, virbank, laser, 4 pluspower, for a total of 140 damage. :(

This format's nice and all, but I'm more curious if 1. This will be applied in Standard Rulings on PTCGO and 2. What the "Modified" rotation will be
