Standard Deck for 10 year old

hey guys, new here but not to the game.
I have a ten year old who has been collecting and playing theme decks for a couple of years, and now she's looking to build a competitive deck. Problem is that most of the decent decks are pretty involved.
I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for easy to pilot competitive decks.
I might try a Raichu Gx for her since it's just energy loading. Not sure though.
Thanks!

I think Ho-Oh/Turtonator/Volcanion is a pretty straightforward deck. You don't have to mess with evolutions besides Starmie and maybe Salazzle GX if you're running that variant. The concept of the deck is pretty straightforward though: Load up on energies with Kiawe and take OHKOs.

My 8 year old daughter runs Metagross effectively; while evolutions are a thing -- its very repetitive and doesnt require alot of "maintenance".

My son ran a Mega Mewtwo deck last format and this format he is running a Lapras box variant. He is 12 but I think if you can build a deck for them and play a few times against them with the deck you built and show them how it works it helps them see how to use the deck. Also youtube is a great hing as well. After that just give it to them and have them practice with it. Help them and show them their mistakes. Practice makes perfect.

Thanks guys. Great suggestions.
Ho-oh/volc is right up her alley as is lapras. Not going to build her metagross cuz I don't want to get pounded by my own kid haha!

The thing with Lapras is the switching in and out a lot. It can be hard to figure out at first but once they get it its super fun deck. My son just recently took first place in seniors with his but he did misplay some and lost some games because of it. Also Lapras can brick pretty bad at times

My son just recently took first place with his Lapras box in the league cup senior division(we knew a lot of kids his age were running Volcanion). If she can get all the switching down fairly easy my guess is she can play something better and a little more competitive. Lapras is a super fun deck but it can brick pretty hard at times. I actually built myself this deck after I built it for him because it was a lot of fun.

Darkrai EX/GX is pretty simple to play, and is great fun. Not the most viable deck in standard, however. If you're looking for something competitively viable, Drampa/Garbodor is pretty easy to pick up.

So I've got a couple salazzle gx in hand already so I'm going to go ahead and try some variation of volcanion.
Anyone have a deck list for this that doesn't use leles? I know the leles are important for ho oh, but I've only got two so the youngest kid is left out haha!

Ps I swear I saw someone on here building this exact (no lele) deck but I can't find it!

Scratch that now I've got
3 ho-oh gx
2 salazzle gx
2 volcanion ex
2 turtonator gx

I've got octillery and oranguru for her to use and pretty much any trainer, so any ideas on how to set up would be greatly appreciated. I'm not very knowledgeable about this!

Well, that's what you're here for.
Okay. From my experience, you need to get your hands on:
• Regular Volcanion from Steam Seige
• Most variants play Scorched Earth, but Altar of the Sunne could be a decent swap-in depending on what the meta has in store.
• I, personally, would choose to play Octillery, but if you run out of space, by all means use Oranguru.
• Ho-oh and Salazzle aren't really in the popular decklists because they are quite situational. Only tech them in if you have space.
• Turtonator GX is usually a good option. An FFB (Fighting Fury Belt) and two steam ups is able to OHKO a Gardevoir GX.
• 13-15 fire energy, you can fine-tune that number while playtesting.
• If you don't want to have to buy "Wallet Buster" Tapu Lele GX, Random Reciever is by far the best replacement.
• Some form of getting Energy out of the discard pile, preferably with Energy Retreival and Fisherman. (Turtonator GX's only drawback.)
• Side note: Turtonator's GX attack can be used at the beginning of the game to get an early lead (if you've discarded 5 fire energy) or near the end to get back on your feet after you're "burned" out. (Get it?... Burned? Fire types? Okay I'll stop.)

I think that's pretty much it. I haven't actually played Volcanion, so if someone says something that contradicts what I say, use their advice.
Best of luck to you and your daughter.
And, come to think of it:
hey guys, new here
Welcome to Pokébeach. Lord Goomy, at your service.

Thanks! Will take your ideas into consideration. I created an unholy mess of a deck on the first try, so there will be a lot of tinkering.

My recommendation is Carbink-Break, and Lycanroc GX (Midday form). In case you aren't aware there are two Lycanroc forms, this time we're focusing on the one that doesn't have an ability. Lycanroc GX is pretty straight forward when you're just evolving your rockruff's into Lycanrocs, and discarding energy from your opponents pokemon with it's first attack. Carbink helps recycle discarded energy so you don't need alot of bulky trainers. I play this deck myself and by turn two I can have a Lycanroc-GX with two energies that's constantly discarding energy from my opponents. I do have a decklist of this if you're interested. :)

Sure! Fire away!
Hey, just want to applaud you for being an awesome dad! I also think an energy acceleration deck is an easy mechanic that isn't too hard to run, so I'd recommend anything like a Raichu GX, Darkrai GX/EX or Mewtwo deck :)

:) Thanks, I'm trying my best!
Definitely will be building the Raichu gx deck when the card is more available. Everyone loves pikachu, right?

Ok. Tried the fire deck and it's just too hard for her to set up (I imagine having no leles is a big part of this) .

She has been rocking a baby ninetails/gyardos deck online with some success, so I'm thinking that maybe if we go for ninetails gx it won't be a stretch for her.
Will report back with deck list.

Maybe try a Lunala deck. Great sense you can get the cards from the theme deck. And rayquaza quardians rising isn't to expedite to order. Nice budget deck. I was going to use but know I'm using a Ho-oh GX deck, although if I get the Mewtwo pin collection I'm going back to Lunala.

She already plays the Lunala theme deck so I'll grab some upgrades for it too. Good thinkin :)
