I've been playing this deck online and it is a total blast. I've considerably tweaked it from an earlier version and it is much more versatile and powerful. Please tell me what you think and suggest improvements.

DECK STRATEGY

PRIMARY STATEGY - Get as many Ho-oh's and several energies into the discard pile as quickly as possible using any combination of retreat, pokemon communication, energy search, ultra balls, and Juniper. Then use Ho-oh's ability to come back to the bench while attaching three different basic energies to it! I can do 80 damage on the first turn this way if I get the right cards, but I have to be lucky for that to happen.

SECONDARY STRATEGY - After resurrecting energy from the discard pile Mew Ex can transfer that energy to Mewtwo or itself for big hits if needed. Mew Ex himself can mimic all of the attacks on the board.

DEFENSE: Sigilyph combined with Catcher can ward off Mewtwo Ex which is this decks' biggest weakness.

Eviolite - Primarily for Mew Ex to compensate for its low HP

Max Potion - Obviously, prolongs the life of my pokemon. However, if I need to get energy in to the discard pile this can serve a dual purpose. Also, I can use Mew's replace attack to heal a pokemon without losing energy if necessary.

ENERGY - Prisms are to ensure Mew Ex can use "replace". Having so many different basic energies is an asset to this deck without any real liabilities since none of my attackers use energy type specific attacks. The multiple types of energy allow Mew Ex to copy nearly any attack and Ho-oh to do maximum damage.

Just saying, I would never use Mew's attack... Maybe if you start with it and get a Ho-oh out of the discard and bench a Mewtwo, but I think I'd rather use Ho-oh at that point. Ho-oh's attack will do more damage, anyway. Also, Ho-oh's attack calls for Basic energy, so the Prisms should go.

Mew's replace attack is a critical strategy in this deck. I can use Ho-oh's to get energy out of the discard pile and attach it to Mewtwo or another pokemon with Mew's replace attack. It makes this deck that much more versatile and Mewtwo that much more dangerous.

As far as taking out the prism energies, you are absolutely correct. I need to replace them with 2 dark energies and 2 more psychic energies and it'll be much more useful. Thanks for that idea!

By the way, I wish Scoop-ups were in the modified format cuz they would be great to use in this deck. Ho-oh getting low on HP? No problem, scoop him up then discard him with Juniper or Ultra Ball!

I'm not exactly sure whether you forgot the super when you said scoop-up, but SSU (super scoop up) is legal. Anyways, TBH, I would rethink the strategy if I were you. It doesn't seem very reliable (the flip for Ho-oh's ability, Mew's 120 hp, etc.). I would consider ditching Mew for some energy switches. Sure, they only move one energy at a time, but they would allow you to attack the same turn. Just my two cents.

I agree, the idea behind Mew is good, but it's too fragile, especially for an EX. Mewtwo just needs a DCE for the KO.
