So, recently I heard that the plastic that deckboxes are sealed in are not acid free and that over time it will dammage the deckbox. Same with sleeves. Is this true?

in my expeicence of having deck boxes, no. the only damage that will occur is wear on the deck box. and if you bought a strudyier type of box it the floor will lose it's adheseive and it will become easy to open the box.

so in short the awnser is no.
