HI

Something that I am not sure about and really bothers me :
If I am breeding a Pokemon with Hidden Ability and Ditto, Should I use Female Pokemon to raise the chances of breeding HA Pokemon? Or this isn't matter?

I know that breeding male HA Pokemon with Ditto can yields another HA Pokemon unlike when its HA male Pokemon with female Pokemon from the same species which makes it harder to get HA, but I am not sure about if in the case of Ditto it completely doesn't matter which gender the HA Pokemon has.

(I am asking this because I want to have the best chances of breeding HA pokemon when hunting Shiny Pokemon via Masuda Method)

Female parents have the highest chance of passing down the HA as long as the mother actually has it to begin with. I want to say it's like an 80% chance but don't quote me on that.

If you have a male with HA + Ditto, you can still pass down the HA, but the chances are much, much lower, like around 30-40% I think.

For Masuda breeding, your best parents are a 6IV Ditto and 5-6IV female parent with HA, both from different-language games. This will give you HA babies most consistently.

no no no..

It's simple

every pokemon has up to 3 possible abilities.
-regular ability 1
-regular ability 2
-hidden ability
(but they are not always each unique. For example sometimes both regular abilities are the same, or in case of most "Levitators", all three abilities are Levitate)

The ability of a bred pokemon is determined as follows:
-60% it will be the same slot as the mothers (this sentence is all you need to understand)
-20% it will be ability 1
-20% it will be ability 2

Meaning, if the mother has ability 1:
-20%+60%=80% ability 1
-20% ability 2

if the mother has ability 2:
-20% ability 1
-20%+60%=80% ability 2

if the mother has the hidden ability:
-20% ability 1
-20% ability 2
-60% hidden ability

Now to the ditto-cases.
The other parent is either male or female. If it's female, then that's the mother and ditto is irrelevant on the subject.
If the other parent is male however, then ditto turns into a female copy of them and acts as the mother...with the identical ability of the father, hence why it seems like the male can pass abilities.

tl;dr: males don't pass abilities. it's just that the ditto copying it to act as the female, also copies the ability... the chances are the same.

So to sum it up .. If I understand that right :

HA Male + Ditto = HA Male + HA female = HA Female + Ditto?

By = I mean the same chances of breeding HA Pokemon.

( Thats great by the way:) )
