Do older people play this game?

I'm nineteen years old, and in college. I was a huge fan of pokemon back in fourth or fifth grade when the original generation debuted, have played card games competitively, and figure that the scholarship money would help.

My question is, are there usually a decent amount of masters division people that play at the higher events (regionals, nationals, worlds) or is it mostly just kids?

ummmmm... masters is usually X2 the size of seniors or junior in most events... i think that answers your question :p

There are a bunch of older people. Usually more Masters than Seniors or Juniors [or so I've noticed]
Take it from me, I'm just a year younger than you are, but it's worth it. =]
It lets you hold onto your youth.

Let's put it this way:

At my last states, the total amount of Masters that showed up was 46 people.

The total amount of Seniors AND Juniors ADDED TOGETHER was 45.

Yes, there is a whole lot more masters.

Yes, there are older people that play this game. Father and his son just won state championship in their respective division.

I'm only 13 but I never want to quit! Especially b/c I still have a lot to learn...er...I mean...no, b/c it's fun, yeah, that's right!

From the ones I've been to, there are more Masters (15 years of age at the beginning of the season in September) than there are Juniors (10 years old or younger) and Seniors (11-14 years) combined.

So the answer i sure there are! Plenty of them.

At first, I thought you meant if there are people in their 50s and 60s who play this, and yeah. The oldest guy I've seen play resembled Gepetto from Pinocchio.

At my local pokemon league, we have 5 adults who are 40+.

Normally dads and moms who play along with their kids.

at Cities, and pre-releases, I have seen alot of older people playing.

Uh...have you ever been to an actual tournament? The Master's division at my States had to use pieces of paper to mark table numbers, they needed to use some of the extra tables in the Senior and Junior divisions, and some even had to play in the hallway... Adults play Pokemon, for sure...

Well, for "older people," I'm assuming teenangers and college students... Well, this website wasn't made by a random kid, you know... It's super successful, and...well...yeah...it's awesome!

well, most pokemon players are 15-30, but I saw about 15 40+ at states. There was even a 68.

Masters will always be the biggest division, and there is quite a few old people who play as well. 30s-50s is what I've generally seen.

dmaster out.

I'm 20 and I still play. I remember going to league as a little kid. I played when Base and Jungle came out, but stopped sometime after Fossil. I picked up the game last year, sometime after Great Encounters came out. I even decided to rebuild the league I went to as a kid in the same location. Most of the people I play against are either my age or older than me. The older people are generally alot more fun to play against, in my opinion, because they always use crazy rogue decks.

In my masters there was this awesome old British lady playing a Garchomp deck. She had a special made wooden mat with chansey and was so proper. It was pretty cool.
