do poeple still trade for old cards?

Hi I have a couple of books full of old cards up to skyridge(with some other random packs I bought over the years) and I'm hoping to trade some of them for Black and White up. I know they aren't tournament legal but I was wondering if there were some old school collectors out there trying to get cards from old sets.(just because they think they are cool to look at)

Most of the rares and holos were never played and sat in pocket pages ever since I got them. I also have some sealed WOTC promo Marrils but I doubt these are worth much...
 
You could request a trading rep. Make a trade thread, and see what happens.

Definitely do what omahanime said!

As far as I know, anything from 1999-2001 is very collectible and will be worth something (especially if most of the cards are in the condition that you mentioned). I'm sure some of the rarer cards from sets after 2001 would still be worth something as well.
 
Yeah I still have around 2,000 of these older cards and I only trade these if I am going to trade for the old cards if I run across anyone with them. They are pretty much extinct and some of those uncommons like the Base Arcanine and Fossil Golem are worth a good rare nowadays. The Base Arcanine is probably worth a non holo Milotic or even a Garchomp depending on who you trade with. It all depends on the one who trades with you. The Base Arcanine is even worth a Typhlosion now XD.:)
