I've seen that Xerneas could be light type and Yveltal be sound type:

But while doing some more research, this picture came up

I believe that legendaries are usually based off 'gods' of the universe. As seen in the following picture:

Could these legendaries now be referring to the nature inside of us?

Discuss!

RE: legendaries represent ectoderm and mesoderm?

I definitely like the second picture. (Ectoderm, mesoderm).
Seems very clever even if it's not legitimate.

RE: Do legendaries represent ectoderm and mesoderm?

I've seen this picture before and it's very possible and that would explain the x and y as for being chromosomes. The only problem I see is that the third legendary would seem bulky, the other too are so sleek and majestic looking. Making a legendary out of round and bulky organs would be a hard thing to do, especially if you want to make it look as good as the other 2. Should be interesting and if they make the next game based off this then I applaud GF

I bet they could somehow pull it off. I'm really impressed so far with the revealed pokemon, they aren't too cartoonish yet still have that pokemon feel. For awhile there it seemed like pokemon design was going down hill. Especially with Ken Sugimori now gone (He was the best) I'm interested to see what the new game holds.

I liked most of gen 5 actually. I have heard alot of hate for it though.

I wonder if get would do a gen of "lost pokemon", like designs for pokemon that just didn't make the cut.

Also everything looks pretty good so far. I'm so anticipating new info but guess we will have to wait.

After doing some research he's not dead (oops!). I was lead to believe he passed away with the tsunami awhile back, but that was some other pokemon person.
Never mind then:p

You're thinking of Satoshi Tajiri, and that was also a false rumor. The only Pokemon person who's died relatively recently was Takeshi Shudo in 2010, a writer of the anime.

The reasoning behind the "sound" one is terrible.

First off, nothing about it looks like a dragon. It's clearly a bird. A wyvern is a medeival-style dragon. The legendary is clearly bird-derived.

And even if it were a wyvern, they aren't "known for loud screeches" any more than literally any other dragon or monster or animal anywhere. Loudness is not a "theme" of wyverns.

I call poppycock on all of it.

They're not smart enough to use biology. They're probably based off of the cartesian coordinates of 3D, with Y and X being the 2D coordinates, and Z being the third axis. X and Y are simply what their battle stances look like because they were designed to look like an X and a Y to fit the trend of X, Y, and Z coordinates, as this is the first 3D game.

As for the typing, you must remember that GF made 3 Firefighter starters in a row. They aren't that bright. They'll probably make Yveltal a Flying/Dark or Dragon/Dark, and Xerneas a Grass/Dragon, Grass/Fighting, or Ice/Grass. Don't give them more credit than they are due.

I absolutely love this kind of deep speculation (the germ layers at least, cause I don't buy the sound/light type). At first thought I wouldn't think that Game Freak would go that far to base the Pokémon/titles off of. Then again, who's to say they didn't? I mean there is a big coincidence here, and it's very believable. I like the idea of possible focus on "the nature inside of us" instead of around us.

Although I'd think they'd use the whole 3D (X,Y,Z) inspiration over something from the body. Still, it's very meritable speculation.

They aren't that dumb, they just aren't too creative sometimes. If they did do it on biology well there is a couple problems

1 younger kids won't get it

2 it could get very complicated

But if it is they could do ALOT with it

1 they could explore the human tendencies and the inner person

2 I could see the legendary battle inside of your character, having the legendary be a part of you and in the end concurring it and taming your inner self

It could be deep and interesting
