Post here if you think Paul should deserve a Pokemon or not.

I say he dose not deserve a Pokemon because he dose not treat his Pokemon with respect.

Well sure he's cruel, but at least he knows what he's doing...

He'll learn eventually, but releasing his Pokemon and all that it has some logic.

I posted in a thread something along this line once.

Paul is a fine Trainer. Sure he may pay attention to only one of his Pokemon, but he's done nothing to warrant removing his rights as a Trainer.

If he did what he did to his Turtwig to any Pokemon he captures, he'd have an all-start team in about five episodes.

I like Paul. I don't follow the anime at all, but it is quite obvious his training methods work; he was able to hold his own against Ash, a veteran Trainer. He got creamed by Cynthia because, well, she's the Champion. I mean, come on, she's the strongest Trainer in Sinnoh... is it really a surprise if some rookie Trainer gets smoked by her?

Releasing your Pokemon isn't a crime. How many of you have released Pokemon you don't want in your games? Or perhaps started using a Pokemon early game, then substituted it later on for - get this - something stronger?? :O

He's not a bad guy. He and Ash couldn't be more different, but Paul's not bad.

i agree with pmj.if you caught a lv 3 geodude and you already had a golem would you keep it?i dont think so.

I think Paul isn't bad, maybe the pokemon he catches aren't the right nature I mean who would want a bold Starly seriously I wouldn't and I think expert breeders agree with me.

heh
in dp [game] ev/iv freaks are the same
release the cheap ones, keep the strong ones

Yeah I agree with that. Paul is A trainer and as long as he doesnt really abuse his pokemon, he is allowed to have pokemon. Now, what happened with Chimchar was different, he released it and Ash got it. Paul does treat his pokemon with respect, but only the stronger ones. His pokemon like him and thats A fact. If they didnt they wouldnt be sticking around for very long. He is not A jerk its just his personality. What PMJ said I agree with 100%. Paul still has the rights to be A trainers. Also, PMJ, Paul isnt A rokie trainer. He has been to every region Ash has been to. But Paul is okay. I know I for one replace my pokemon with stronger ones if it turns out weak.

His methods dont appear to be cruel, and you really can't argue with the results
Seriously, he is just training his pokemon hard, and in return they give him good results.

yea i agree with most people here ,i mean come on, we have all released our fair share of Pokemon when we're iv , nature , ability breeding : i know i at least released 60+ Bagons till i got the best iv one , and now is my best pokemon : Salamence (Hurricane)

so Paul's not that bad , more of a strategy kinda guy , ash just gets a Pokemon and sticks with it forever till some event happens like the pidgeot thing >_> he should bring pidgeot back , it PWNED

so id say as long Paul doesnt physically abuse them , then he's ok , but he's not the most friendly guy around

but i only dont release 2 pokemon

I would train it to make an Army of Golem. Really I don't think he has emotion except hatred

Not true. He doesn't hate the Pokemon he keeps.

marinepika has the right idea. When breeding for the right Pokemon, most of us aren't going to keep the scrub ones. Why should we settle for less when we can have the best?

The first time I played Ruby, I caught a Taillow and trained it for a while, but eventually I ditched him after he evolved. Why? Because he wasn't pulling his weight. He was weaker than the rest of my team; I found myself never being able to use him because he was usually at a disadvantage type-wise, or just didn't have the power to KO something.

Not necessarily. If you catch a Pokemon and it yields the results you want, are you going to keep it? I think so. :> If you start using it and find your self saying, "You know, this Pokemon isn't everything I'd hoped it would be," what's the logical course of action? :>

Paul and Ash don't get along because Ash doesn't agree with Paul's training methods. I don't believe he's a jerk. Has he ever called Ash a name or just laughed at the way he trains his Pokemon? Paul was respectful to Professor Rowan for allowing Paul and Ash to use Professor Rowan's field for battle. Surely that must speak something about his character. I wasn't aware that Paul wasn't just starting out. Has he accomplished much? Regardless of that, he was still able to go toe to toe with Ash, which means he does have skill as a Trainer.

I would bet any money that Paul becomes one of Ash's toughest opponents.

I agree with that. Also its not known if he has accomplished much. All thats really known about him is, He has been to Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn, and that Turtwig is his starter.

I completly aggree with pmj, i dont agree with pauls training methods but that doesnt meen they dont work! How do you know Paul has been to every region ash has been too? And how do you know all the stuff about him, im just curious, I really like knowing stuff like that!! He does have some very strong pokemon so his methods do pay off!
