Ruling Does Pokemon Ranger Override M-Beedrill EX

Hi Guys,
This match-up came up the other day in a game and we couldn't decide what the ruling should be so hopefully you guys can help :) This also might be an interesting question based on the Toxapex-GX card that's just been revealed.
Mega Beedrill's attack, Hazard Stinger, poisons your opponent (amongst other things) and the opponent has to put 4 damage counters on their pokemon between turns rather than 1.
My question is, if my opponent was to play Pokemon Ranger would the poison damage go back to the standard 1 damage counter between turns or would it stay as 4?
I can argue both sides of this argument but can't decide what the rule would be. Does the extra damage apply to the Status condition or is it still considered an affect of an attack?
As I said above, this would likely have the same effect on the new Toxapex's poison and may be a huge counter for both of these pokemon's attacks.
Please help :)

No it doesn't. This was asked a few weeks ago in the ask a professor section, not sure where it is yet with the redesign to link it. If I recall, the reasoning was that Beedrill EX inflicts a "Super" status condition, which Pokémon ranger does not interact with since it only interacts with effects. You would need something like Pokémon Center Lady, which cures status conditions.

Edit: found the link: http://www.pokebeach.com/forums/threads/m-beedrill-ex-pokemon-ranger.136256/#post-2832715 (I should have thought to search for "Super status condition" first. lol)
