Ruling Double Colorless Energy

Hello! I'm new to the forum and am planning on entering my first real tournament this week and had a quick question!

I have double colorless energies from sets before XY. Are those cards still legal to play in a tournament with standard format rules or can I only use double colorless energies from XY packs?

To find out if a card is legal under the reprint rule, you have to look at the card's effect.

The effect of both (that is, all) versions of DCE is the same, so you can use any version of DCE in your deck - even the super-dope base set ones that I'll be rocking at cities this weekend.

Cards that share the same name but have vastly different effects are still legal but require you to play them as the newer version and also require a current version reference outside of your deck. The exception to this is Computer Search; the base set version is not allowed to be used since in order to use it you would need a copy of the ACE SPEC as your reference, which means you could just use that card instead.
