I was wondering...are the new DRE (Crystal Guardians) more valuable then the older versions (Aqua Magma and Emerald)? Or are they just the same rarity? I think they're the same, but can anyone please confirm this?

I didn't know erratas affected the value of a card that much. The people who collected Pokémon cards that I knew, almost none even knew how to play the game. Charizard and Chansey were valuable simply because of the high numbers on their cards and remained valuable despite a tweaking of both later on in the card game. (I was asked from a collector, for an example, if I had any duplicates to trade, the collector being completely unaware that having duplicates is key to building a decent deck.)

I can understand why, say, Holon's Castform is disproportionately valuable for its rarity, and the same goes for Mew EX Legend Maker during its own time. But, I've observed, a collector would want a Double Colorless Energy from EX Team Magma vs. Team Aqua because he or she hasn't yet had this specific card from this set and not due to any competitive value.

Yeah that's pretty much the size of it. I mean, Diamond & Pearl has pretty much trash as far as playable cards go, but I for one am still trying to complete the set as well as have a reverse holo set, so they're valuable to me.

I think MA is more worth cause:

1. In Reverse Holo they had more style
2. They're harder to get now, cause MA booster are out of sale
3. More style XD

No actually CG haves different artwork then Emerald/Team Magma vs. Team Aqua.

You can use any DRE legally in tournaments no matter what set there from (except Team Magma vs. Team Aqua
because they have different wording) because they any reprinted in pop 5 and CG.

You can use ALL D.R.E as long as you have an updated one outside as a refrense, or a printout straight from the cardex of the newest version.
