Is this worth playing? it has me stumped, i cant seem to figure out wether to play him..

In my opinion, his laking of a power or body is kinda lame...but deafen is ok damage wise and a pretty awesome effect, and dragons roar is awesome (TO THE MAX! - deafen 'em for a bit, then DAMAGE COUNTERS FOR ALL!) yet the cost is a tad too high...especially considering flygon ex and kindra ex's 3 for 80

however no weakness is neat..yet 2 retreat cost,..hmm borderline

what do you guys think? has anyone played it/played against it?
thanks, jack

Fearow δ could help it out a lot, as well as Altaria EX δ. We'll just have to wait for any real full-proof ideas.

Its quite okay. You can deafen the opponents pokemon till they're weak, then dragon raor to kill 2 pokemon at a time. Slow but steady, wins the game!

it takes a while to charge but his first attack makes up for that.
and with altaria ex it can be charged in 2 turns :D just like flygon ex d

yep, too slow for the last atk.

I bet raieggs can do this too, why go slower when u can go with a bunch of stage 1 pokemons?

And have no weakness and 150HP? And trainer lock + 40 damage? And only needing grass energy? And a billion times nicer art?

I love it. I think it's very good. 150 HP, no weakness and okay retreat cost.
Maybe it's slow, but if you, for an example, have Snorlax d out, you gan charge it from the beginning, if you have an Dratini too. a rare candy, 2 E's and you can attack, to more turns and you does 80! If the defending pokemon isn't already KO'ed you'll bee able to do A LOT of damge to the bench.
8,5/10 in my eyes!

ah thanks for the shed load of opinions:D

if put with altaria ex however...wouldnt the deck just be tooo ex intensive? i think it would be slightly more hassle than help. i dont know...it just seems that by the time you bring out both an altaria and dragonite, theres little powering to be needed anyway. of course i guess you could pump up some more, but then you should be running short of enrgies ion the hand....

snorlax sounds nice, it does buy valuable play time...yet limits your own flexibility. i like deafen, but its only ging to be of assistance if played quick to block candies. with snorlax out front, hes stuck! unless there are loaaddsa switches...

he can attack quicker than flygon mind you..he does have a 2 energy attack! sureley this is no slower than walrein (i was about to say walreign..BUT DIDNT:D) and most exs...
i just think the lack of pokebopdy/power is the most nagging thought...would it be better to go with a pokebody'er like kingdra/flygon delta exs?

i would agree with going with Kingdra Ex. Dragonite is a nice card but if it don't wow u at first look. more steak less sizzle

I don't get what you mean be too many EXs. There's no problem with running very many EXs at all, you run however many you need to use.

And Altaria EX is a Stage 1, so it's easy to get out. It's more for powering up other Dragonite EXs after the first one.

mm i know what you mean
but, well when i play a stage 2 ex deck, i am soley focused on getting that stage 2 ex out. the other lil' tag-alongs are alomost a bonus. altaria ex is a nice bonus however...yeah ok, if built i would run a 4-3-4 dragonite and a 3-3 altaria line. and besides, the dragonites have a 2 energy attack anyway :D
forget what i said about to many ex's. i was thinking too hard on the subject lol

but ultimately
can dragonite keep up/ excel other stage 2 exs like kingdra or flygon? is it just TOO average?

Well rite now I'm using a Dragonite EX d deck, and it is fairly fast, but also depends on a bit of luck. I play holon lakes to get the pokemon, and also as for the energy requirments, using Dragonite d (DS) and Altaria EX GREATLY speeds it up. Just discard a few lightnings with your holon supporters and keep grass in your hand and you pretty much can Dragon Roar in 2 turns. But that depends on the luck of even getting all three out, so yeh...i'll shut up now

edit: before i completely shut up, I guess if you can pull out a quick draggy d ex and deafen you can greatly hamper the opponent as they can't play stadiums, holon transceiver (which is assumable since you're going up agaisnt delta decks). It's just all about speed, if they manage a quick Kingdra then you're screwed, 3 energies for 80 is massive. I've forgotten wat flygon does but i think draggy may stand a chance.

Flygon ex is much better, than Kingdra.

actually i'd say they're par. i guess u r overlooking the fact that kingdra's body is stackable

Draggy ex is ok, with the fact that Deafen works like Disconnect, and that it has decent HP. It also has no weakness, so that's a plus. (No resistance either....) Deafen will work well against that flygon and charizard d deck. With the fact they won't be able to use holon transciever like en_ryu said.

It's definitely a playable card.
You can do tons of bench damage, and Deafen is a fantastic attack for a relatively low cost.
