as to what sets i have opened everything exept gaurdians rising
Okay, thanks man. I am assuming you mean the Dragonite EX release in Furious Fists with the Bust in Ability, which is still standard legal because of a promo box, someone tell me if I'm wrong. Since you were running a mix of Lightning and Grass it would probably have to be, and I'll just assume it is because it's one of my favorite cards to collect. Anyway, the best partner for it right now would be the Vikavolt that released in Sun and Moon Base Set with the Strong Charge Ability: Once during your turn, you may search you deck for a Grass and a Lightning Energy card and attach them to your Pokemon in anyway you like. This means you can put 2 energies per turn, per Vikavolt from your deck to your Pokemon.
Additionally, when Guardians Rising releases this could be a great partner with Tapu Koko GX who is very similar to Dragonite, as he can also Bust In so long as he takes a Lightning Energy off any of your Pokemon. Additionally, Tauros GX and Ninja Boy have even better synergy in this deck because a damaged Dragonite can be replaced with Tauros and later Dragonite can rush in again. In my opinion both of them are better in Expanded because of the trainer line you take with them. Here is how I might build this deck:
Pokemon= 16
3 Dragonite EX (Furious Fists)
1 Dragonite EX (Evolutions)
2 Tapu Koko GX
2 Tauros GX
1 Tapu Lele GX or Shaymin EX (If either of these are too expensive run 1 Lugia EX)
2 Grubbin
2 Charjabug
2 Vikavolt
Supporters= 13
3 N
2 Professor Sycamore
2 Ninja Boy
2 AZ (in Standard replace with Team Flare Grunt, until Acerola is released)
1 Brock's Determination
1 Lysandre
1 Lillie
Items= 21
4 VS Seeker
3 Fighting Fury Belts
4 Max Potions
3 Ultra Ball
2 Repeat Ball
2 Field Blower
1 Energy Recycler
1 Professors Letter
Energy= 10
5 Grass Energy
5 Lightning Energy
This should be a very fun deck, but there are a few things to consider. First, and most obvious, Tapu Koko GX is "better" than Dragonite EX. It attacks for harder, has no weakness, a lower retreat and so on. I suggest Dragonite Ex for a few reasons, 1) you already have it, 2) You may, and I certainly do, just like it more because Dragonite reasons, and 3) It's ability is a little more versatile than Tapu Koko's, in that it can take any energy and be promoted to the active. However it would probably be better to take the 3 Dragonite's out and put in 2 Tapu Koko and 1 Tauros. The idea of the deck still stays the same.
As for playing this deck, it should be rather simple. Start whomever and try to build up a Vikavolt, with any luck this will take exactly 3 turns, because I did not make room for rare candies. As you active is attacked and would be knocked out next turn Bust In, or Aero Trail to replace it with Dragonite or Tapu Koko, then use max potion or AZ to heal the now benched pokemon. If the active is not being threatened with a knock out, then Ninja Boy into Tauros and clean up with him.
The only Expanded card in the deck right now is AZ which can be replaced with Acerola when it releases. Acerola returns any 1 damaged Pokemon and all cards attached to it, in this example probably just the fighting fury belt but also any energy you choose to leave on it, to your hand. If you do commit to playing it in expanded then definitely make room for about 3 Super Scoop Ups that you had in your first deck list.
I hope this was helpful and good luck. I you have anymore questions or want a different deck list I can help you with that too.
