Ruling Dragonite ex (dg)

So i was playing with my brother... I got Dragy and he's got Aggron ex (cg). I use dragon roar on aggron with resistance to grass and two special metal energies. How would that work out? I say i still put the 8 counters, but my bro says it takes only 3 counters...[/b]

Placing damage counters are considered as effects of an attack, not damage. So yes, it would do 80.

The only way he could apply the Resistance and Metal Energy Effect is if Dragonite ex's attack had the numbers 80 in bold next to the attack.

It doesn't do 80 damage, it places 8 damage counters...its different
