Pokemon(16):

4x Drampa GX
1x Shaymin EX
2x Tapu Lele GX
4x Trubbish
3x Trashalanche Garb
1x Garbotoxin Garb
1x Tauros GX

Trainers (36):

4x Sycamore
2x N
2x Lysandre
1x Hala (Big Wheel into Hala is too good an option for this not to be here)
1x Lillie
1x Team Flare Grunt
1x Hex Maniac
4x VS Seeker
(empty spot for T-Mail that was filled by more draw supporters)
4x Ultra Ball
4x Crushing Hammer
2x Field Blower
1x Rescue Stretcher
1x Super Rod
2x Float Stone
3x Choice Band
3x Team Magma's Secret Base

Energy (8):

4x Basic Psychic Energy
4x DCE

Strategy:

Pressure your opponent into items with Drampa and the denial, then clean house with Garbodor.

I'd really like some help with the tech options, Ninja Boy seemed like a good idea but I like the current tech line and couldn't really fit Ninja Boy in.

Run a fourth Magma Secret Base and also consider Bridgette since it gets the Trubbish out real fast without hurting them with Magma's Secret Base. also cut the hammers for four additional basic energies. Crushing Hammers removes on average two energies and would add 80 more damage in the mirror. Not with the investment. The hammer version is the weakest version of Garbodor at the moment.

Thanks for the advice! I think I'm going to forgoe the Crushing Hammers for E-Hammers and Grunts as they're much more reliable. The fourth Base seems like a good idea, I had it in here originally but I ended up cutting it because the crushing hammers took up so much space. Here are my edits:

-4 Crushing Hammer
+1 Team Flare Grunt
+1 Team Magma's Secret Base
+2 Enhanced Hammer

It may be best to just lose all the denial, it would give some space for another Rescue Stretcher and maybe some techy things. If I do ending up losing the denial, heres what I'd put in:

-2 E-Hammer
-2 Flare Grunt
+1 Rescue Stretcher
+1 Oricorio (The Beekilling one, I hate myself for teching this but I dont like that Vespiquen can trade with us, and when I go against Garb with Vespi it doesn't seem to be a good matchup for Garb.)
+1 Special Charge (Sycamore security, basically)
+1 Ninja Boy

I'm leaning more torwards the non-denial version, but I'm still not sure. If anyone has any experience with the denial version of Garb, please let me know what you think of it.

Turn the special charge into a third Float Stone. Personally I would cut Tauros GX and Lillie, and Shaymin Ex for a third Tapu Lele GX, Delinquent, and Bridgette. With four Magma's Secret Base Tapu Lele GX is excellent to search for Bridgette and bench either three Trubbish or two Trubbish and another Drampa GX. Without Bridgette you are asking for Alolan Ninetales Gx to snipe off your Trubbish and Ice Path your Drampa GX for three free prizes. The rest of the hammer-less version looks good to me.

I think instead of cutting Lillie I'll cut Ninja Boy because it's useless without Tauros. Dropping Shay is a possibility, the thought of a 90HP Shaymin sitting on the bench isn't something I like at all. You're definitely right about Brigette, Ninetales detonating Trubbishes would be really bad. Delinquent also seems like a good idea, but I dont want to cut Shay for it as Shay is basically for the, "Why can't I find *insert card here*?!" moments and won't be something to use every game. However, with Lillie, Big Wheel, and Hala, Shaymin might be completely unnessescary, I'll know after testing. Dropping Special Charge for a third Float Stone is a possibility, but I think I'd rather drop it for Delinquent because then I won't have to drop Shaymin. If getting out Garbotoxin seems to be something I do alot, then Special Charge and Shaymin will be gone for a third Float and Delinquent. Here's what I think the list will look like after all the edits:

Pokemon (17):

4x Drampa GX
3x Tapu Lele GX
1x Shaymin-EX
1x Oricorio
4x Trubbish
3x Trashalanche Garb
1x Garbotoxin Garb

Trainers (35):

4x Sycamore
2x N
2x Lysandre
1x Lillie
1x Hex Maniac
1x Delinquent
1x Brigette
1x Hala
4x VS Seeker
4x Ultra Ball
2x Field Blower
2x Rescue Stretcher
1x Super Rod
2x Float Stone
3x Choice Band
4x Team Magma's Secret Base

Energy (8):

4x Basic Psychic Energy
4x DCE

Thanks for all the help!

You do not want less than twelve energies in this deck. Cut down on some of the trainers and supporters in addition to Shaymin Ex to include four more basic energies. The deck does not work with less than that. Not sure on the fourth Drampa GX either. Personally two to three worked best for me. Youz could also consider Hoopa over Oricorio if you do not expect a lot of Vespiquen decks.

I play Garb frequently and with 8 energy I never miss them

Hi GekkisaiDaiNi,

Consider the list below as a start. It has two free slots to customize.

Pokémon(14):
  • 3 Garbodor SM2
  • 1 Garbodor BKP
  • 4 Trubbish SM2
  • 3 Tapu Lele GX
  • 3 Drampa GX
Trainers (32):
  • 4 Professor Sycamore
  • 1 Hex Maniac
  • 1 Delinquent
  • 2 Lysandre
  • 1 Bridgette
  • 1 Hala
  • 2 N
  • 1 Rescue Stretcher
  • 3 Choice Band
  • 1 Field Blower
  • 2 Float Stone
  • 1 Super Rod
  • 4 Vs Seeker
  • 4 Ultra Ball
  • 4 Magma's Secret Base
Energy (12):
  • 4 Double Colorless Energy
  • 8 Psychic Energy
I would run one more Basic Pokémnon such as either Oricorio or Hoopa and possibly a second Field Blower. Hope this provides some initial assistance.

Had the opposite experience. If you take an early lead your opponent may N you down to a rather small hand while there are still a considerable number of cards left in your deck. Also consider that most decks now play three N. Furthermore, Drampa consumes two to three of the eight energies on his own. In addition less than 12 energies will lead to a terrible control weakness. Lapras, Sylveon and a well built Lycanroc deck will run you out of resources fast. I would run the deck akin to the old BBP decks in the BW erea and ensure the deck is able to attack and attach each turn.

I think between Big Wheel, Shaymin, Lillie, Hala, and the normal draw supporters, it will be fine.
Oricorio may go because, like you said, Vespiquen isn't around that much. If it does, a second Hala or a Special Charge may be in order.

Thanks for this, it helps quite a bit. I think I agree with cutting the fourth Drampa, it doesn't seem like it's a huge deal if you get Trubbish as your start. Here's another list:

Pokemon (15):

3x Drampa GX
3x Tapu Lele GX
4x Trubbish
3x Garbodor Trashalanche
1x Garbodor Garbotoxin
1x Tapu Koko Promo (I chose this over Hoopa because I dont think hitting a Tauros for twenty will really effect the deck, and I like the idea of ending a Gyarados deck in one attack. Also provides a free retreat pivot card and can be decent to squeeze out some K.Os that Drampa or Garb barely missed.)

Trainers (35):

4x Sycamore
2x N
2x Lysandre
1x Brigette
1x Delinquent
1x Hex Maniac
1x Lillie
1x Hala
1x Brigette
4x VS Seeker
4x Ultra Ball
2x Field Blower
1x Rescue Stretcher
1x Super Rod
2x Float Stone
3x Choice Band
4x Team Magma's Secret Base

Energy (10):

6x Basic Psychic Energy
4x DCE

Another option I've seen is Max Elixir to get Beserk up T1, which sounds pretty appealing but I'm not sure if it's really worth it or sure of what to cut for them.

Hi GekkisaiDaiNi,

Like the revised list a lot. Consider to cut Lillie for one more Psychic Energy but this is about it. I would not run Max Elixir in this Garbodor variant. For me Max Elixir is only worth it in a Wobbuffet variant of Garbodor.
