Drapion, too slow?

Hi,

So I got a Platinum box and got Drapion X. I tried all variations of Drapion decks, I've tried Lock with Unown K, Palkia X, Weavile and Drapion. I tried heavy hitting, with Drapion, Weavile and Darkrai X. And I've tried poison with it and Weezing GE. Of course it had all the common techs, I tried Claydol, I tried Uxie, I even tried it with neither and none of them worked. It was very slow, even with weavile powering it up, It was T4 at the earliest, and I don't know about everybody else, but that's just not fast enough to play in the Metagame around here. I wanted to use it for States, but it's looking like the Pt. Blissey is better than this, which is what I'm currently running right now. Am I doing something wrong, or is this just a slow deck?
Thanks

No. Giratina at least has the decent Absol supporting it. Drapion is a poor tank with no fast enough engine to make it run fast enough to hold against the metagame.

I say Drapion is meant for poison.

Use a 3-2-2 Drapion Lv.X(DP-SF-PT), 3-3 Weezing (GE-GE), 1-1 Toxicroak(MT-MT), and a 2-2 Dugtrio(SW-PT) along with all the other techs you need.

Am I the only one with a good list?

I went to league today, lost once, and it was to Rampardos. It does well against almost everything it faces. I have a list at The Jive.

It is NOT slow if you do it right, and it packs quite a punch. Anybody who I've faced could testify to this (though only one is at Pokebeach :p). You guys are all mostly wrong...here's my list:

Pokemon:

3-3-1 Drapion line (SF/SF/PT)
4-2 Weavile SW
1-1 Darkrai Lv. X (GE #3/GE)
2-1 Uxie LV X
1-1 Palkia LV X GE
2 Unknown G

Total: 22

Trainers and supporters:

4 Bebe's Search
3 Roseanne's Research
2 Felicity's drawing
2 Warp Point
2 Pokedex Handy
2 Duskball
2 Pokemon Rescue
2 Premier Ball
2 Night M.
1 LUX BALL
2 Moonlight Stadium
Total: 24

ENERGY:

4 SP {D}
10 {D}

I have only lost a total of 4 games with this deck. Well, 3 with an earlier version and 2 against Rampardos, new or not. It seriously is wicked fast, if you play it right. ;)

Alright, I'll try that, then. Maybe I'm just not doing it right. What I'm mostly having trouble with is Blastcatty, I keeps taking out all the techs on my bench, leaving me with a single Drapion out front, with no backup.

Well, if you're running Lockdown, it's easier. You just lock in one of their techs and hammer away at Blastoise. Dark Drapion (my decklist) can use Tri-Poison (30 damage) and Derail (100 with Darkrai out) to KO Blastoise. You can also Restructure something easy to KO and use Sniping Tail to kill it and do 40 to Blastoise.

Also, Drapion can have Darkrai and Uxie Lv. X as secondary attackers.

your list is really wierd and i can already tell your wrecked by dusknoir/palkia g
because active 1drapion bench 2 darkrai 3weavile 4palkia lvx 5 uxie 6uxie/drapion/unown g slot
when theres that many different pokemon on the bench i know the deck is too slow especially 3 different lv.xs

You definately need lvl max, although its flippy, all of these X's really need to get up on the bench, so 3-4 is mandatory.

Plakia G is the least of my few troubles. :D And I only need Drapion active, 1 Darkrai Bench, 1 Weavile bench, and 1 Palkia Lv. X bench for a good setup. The other 2 spots can be kept clear.

It's actually quite fast. All I have to do is get Drapion out and then setup is much easier after that. Weavile and Palkia out alone will let me steal a few prizes...provided there's Moonlight.

I already took out Level Max for Premier Ball. It actually works rather well. The only thing I would think of taking out would be Dusk Ball.

To the above list I'm just going to say it now.
Cresselia Lv.X>Darkrai Lv.X by incomparable measures.

Cresselia can help you receive two KO's in a turn (Restructure, Poison, hit for 40+, 40 to the bench, next turn rinse and repeat) if you will be ten short (T-Tar).

Though contradicting my other post, Drapion can be deadly in the right hands (As can almost any deck)

Yes, but then I'd have to run {P} energy in my deck, which would be useless on Drapion. So, Darkrai has more synergy with Drapion than Cresselia does, so I run it. :D

And, I forgot to mention, my regular Darkrai is GE #3. It can search for those precious energies.

No, you don't have to run any {P} energy at all since there is really no reason for Cresselia Lv. X to attack so there is no need for them.

And for some strange reason you do want to attack with it, then you could just run Rainbow Energy (attach Rainbow Energy and move the counter with Cresselia Lv. X) its as simple is that.

I thought that he meant Moon Skip. :p

Eh, I prefer the power Darkrai gives me either way.

You should still be double KOing them, with or without Darkrai, not to mention Darkrai is shut down by a certain other guy (Dialga G), Cresselia can help KO it. Mind you slowly, and you should still lock it active with Palkia but it’s your list.

Rainbow is also pretty sick in here...the ability to use Palkia Lv.X for fire and Cresselia for mirrors etc. is amazing.

Uxie already helps with mirrors (1 Zen Blade will all but finish Drapion Lv. X). Darkrai does get shut down by Dialga G Lv. X, but I have Restructure and Sniping Tail to take care of him, and it isn't run that much.

Sorry, but I'm not going to run Cresselia. Just personal choice.

...okay, I'll give you that one. My first Drapion deck got owned by a TTar deck. It does have a nasty ability to hit for 150 damage.
