What's the difference between [topic] and "The defending pokemon..."? I haven't played since the base set/jungle/fossil and im starting to get back into it. Is it possible to do dual battles or something or does it affect all of the opponent's pokemon? I'm a little confused here..

Well, welcome back. There is a new way to battle called a double battle. You will not see it at tournaments however it is a very fun way to play.
You play with 2 active Pokemon, but only 1 may attack.
This restricts your bench to 4 Pokemon rather then 5.
You must also say what pokemon you are going to use certain card effects on (such as Wally's Training)
Certain pokemon have special benefits during a double battle (such as Luvdisc POP2)
Some pokemon let you attack both the defening Pokemon at once (such as Machoke LM)
All the other rules stay the same.

P.S.: If i missed something please add it in.

P.S. Kaizer: If you have any other questions feel free to PM me.

Ohhh, gotcha. Makes sense...so with full flame, the PK Charizard isn't so useless after all, correct? Also, You could just PM me this if you want, what kind of details could you give me on the tournament metagame? I used to win the Toys 'R' Us League things all the time and I was like 8, all I did was play cards that were powerful. Nowadays, after becoming a nerdy gaming whore, I understand a lot more, and I imagine with some resources and knowledge on the the metagame scene I could really wreak some havoc.

Just look in the Card Combo's, Stickied thread about combo's. Note:Alot of them aren't used alot any more. The big ones are, Flyluttions, Electanite, Metanite, Mercury, RhyD, Flariados and Lucarchamp. If you or anyone else has questions about how these and other metagame combo's work, feel free to PM me.
