Eelektross

There are a lot of good cards in this set, but this one seems like it has a lot of potential.

The ability lets you move any basic energy to your active any time during your turn. It's a lot like Dragonite EX in that you can get an attacker with a bunch of energy out of nowhere, but in this case, the attacker can be anything and you can use the ability any time. Of course, it's downside is that it's a stage 2 and it doesn't have the built in switching that Dragonite comes with, but I still think there's a lot of potential for some new archetypes. The big one is Mega Manectric which can get a bunch of energy into play and then conserve it with retreat/max potion shenanigans (it has free retreat so it's perfect). There's also Victini EX which has a similar function but it gets energy from the deck. For expanded, Ho Oh EX could be even more ridiculous than it already is. And for any deck it's in, a switch/escape rope/keldeofloatstone can basically turn into a scramble switch.

And it gets even better when you take into account the Eelektrik that's available in expanded.

I can't say I'm a believer. It's a Stage 2, and while there is more support for S2s in Primal Clash, getting around Seismitoad is still a bother. The Ability is kind of limited, since even in RayEels (which hasn't seen much in Expanded anyway) you can just use Keldeo + Float Stone to get your attacker benched and reattach energy. If Ho-Oh becomes a thing, perhaps it could have a niche role there, but I wouldn't expect too much of it. Perhaps you could cycle away energy from a damaged Pokemon to use Max Potion, but that's also sort of a niche role and there's more efficient means of doing this. Fighting weakness, three retreat cost and an expensive attack do not do it any justice. Still, in the right deck it could prove as useful support.

I could also see this working with either Wishcash or Gorebyss (or anything which has a Growth). You can essentially attach an extra energy each turn, but to any Pokemon that's active.

It could be a good one-of Pyroar/Sigilyph counter in RayEels, as it can serve some purpose to the deck strategy in addition to its attack (as contrasted with the Plasma Blast Eelektross). Not sold on its usefulness, but it does have the advantage of added flexibility.

For example you could Dynamotor to your Eels, then use it as a Scramble Switch onto a new Rayquaza EX, since you can move the Fire Energy around.

What about Yveltal/Malamar/Eelektross? You wouldn't be able to use DCE, but constantly keeping the opponent's Pokemon asleep while still being able to power up your active Yveltal seems like it possibly could be broken. Works very well with Dark Patch in expanded, as well.

There is already hydreigon that lets you move darkness energy around as you like and the hydreigon from phantom gate acts similarly to dark patch. Just seems like a better option to me but I feel like Eelektross could be used in other decks like bronzong variants after Keldeo EX gets rotated, you would essentially be able to metal links to the active Pokemon.

There's such an incredible amount of hype for this set that I think a lot of people are disregarding the fact that there's a ton of these Stage 2 possibilities but they're still Stage 2. This one in particular has a hefty Retreat, a mediocre attack, and you also need to run a form of acceleration alongside it to make the Ability worthwhile. IMO the only Stage 2s worth trying out right now are Emboar LTR, Crobat PHF, and maybe the new Sceptile (non-Ancient Trait). The reason being that they have great Abilities alone and are not main attackers, so you don't have to worry about constantly evolving to be able to do damage.

Hydreigon only works on darkness energy, which is only really necessary if you are in expanded with Blend GRPD.
Fairies uses aromatisse to cycle Fairy energy, which is only necessary in future if you use SP Fairy energy from Primal Clash.
However aromatisse has the advantage of being Stage 1.

Yeah i know Hydreigon only works with darkness energy, the reason I said anything about it was an individual that was talking about putting energy onto Malamar EX and moving it to Yveltal EX both of which are dark pokemon.

Yeah there is almost no chance any metal deck runs this card after Keldeo EX gets rotated. I would run more switch and escape rope, before clogging up an already packed deck with a Stage 2 bench sitter. It would be much easier to just rotate between 2 Dialga EX, or whatever.

I think just about the only deck that will want to devote the space to play this card is Eels, and only because they already play some of the evolution line. Of course Metal is better than Eels, but I guess this is one thing that Eels might actually have over Metal. A Dark Trance Ability plus a built in Pyroar counter. I still think that Metal is better though.
